Ok i have a guard army and so i am looking to start a completely different style army and thought whats the opposite of lots of shooting, crap armour and rubbish in combat? hmm blood angles?
Anyway its pretty much just a deep strike in your face list
5 Honour Guard
5 Storm Shields
4 Lightning Claws
2 Fuioso Dreadnoughts with Blood Talons
2 units of 5 assault marines with flamers in each
5 Death Company with lemartes (for 6)
4 Power Weapons
5 Vanguard Veterans
4 Pairs of Lighting Claws
2 Storm Ravens with extra armour
Astorath joins the honour guard (20 attacks + Astorath with re-rolls to hit and to wound, ignoring armour)
If i am facing a massive gun line then this unit jumps in the storm raven
Lemartes will also jump in the storm raven if i am facing a massive gun line
The assault marines will go after big units of orcs etc and be backed up with a dreadnought they will also try and take objectives
Both dreadnoughts go in the storm ravens
the vanguard vets are hopefully going to try and take out something important
The rest is just used to do as much damage as possible
Any tips wld be much appreciated as i have no idea how really to play this type of army
Drop Lemartes and the jump packs on the death company. Put the death company in a stormraven and give em so nice toys. Put astorath with the death company because a death company gets re roll to hit and wound and they have WS 5 and fleet. Drop one storm raven and make your assault squads ten men each with 2x meltaguns. Make on of the Furiosos a death company dreadnought and let the stormraven carry it.*Hope this helps.*
Exactly the reason I started Blood Angels! Good choice. My BA force has a Dreadnought/Drop Pod theme, so that's where my advice will be coming from.i have a guard army and so i am looking to start a completely different style army
But first, the problems. You men have way, way too much equipment and 10 MEQs is insufficient for scoring purposes in a game this big. Including two characters doesn't help, either. Lastly, if the Furiosos are riding in the Storm Ravens then all of the enemy's antitank firepower will be directed at two medium-armor units. Easy kills...and fatal to any SR-based offense.
I recommend switching to a Storm Raven-based defense. They've got the firepower to do that and their fragility can be compensated for by adding a Drop Pod element. Put the Furiosos in Pods and, to get two additional Pods for free, drop the assault squads' jump packs. They'll be riding in the SRs to make it scoring. Give a Pod or two a beacon for optimal Vanguard performance. You will need to add an offensive scoring unit, too. A jp assault squad with Reclusiarch is a solid choice, or you could bring a fifth Pod with 9-man assault squad & HQ. (Seth would be awesome this way!)
To afford all this, drop the Death Company entirely. You may also need to change the Honor Guard to a Vanguard squad, too. It's okay for Vanguard to be cheap; their true strength is being where they're needed. A claw or two is all they need.
An alternative proposal, if you want to keep a mechanized Death-Star offense, is using Land Raiders instead of Storm Ravens. A lightning clawed unit with Chappie and Priest will hit at high strength and initiative with rerolls to both hitting and wounding. Even storm shields will struggle against that.
For a parting thought, I've found that Death Company work best without any upgrades. Hard targets usually ignore their WS and FNP advantages while soft targets struggle...and relentless bolters are perfect against cannon fodder.

thanks for the reply
Astorath goes with the honour guard who have lighting claws and so get to re-roll to hit and wound
I know the 2, 5 man scoring units is not alot but this is more fluff based than anything else and so thats why everything must be equipped with jump packs and no tanks
The reason i take the furioso is that i find armour 13 to be much better than 12
The storm ravens with dreadnoughts will almost always be deployed in reserve to help against the Anti-Tank weapons
U are right about the equipment and i might drop all the power weapons off the vanguard vets and death company as i suppose the vanguard vets are best used for taking out thinks like devastators etc and so the power weapons are just over kill
