Iíve written a semi-competitive Grey Knight footslogging army list which I happy with and will soon be completed for a tournament in April. However soon after there is another tournament in May at 1850pts and I donít have the time to make any big changes to the list like the henchmen I originally had planned. So Iím looking at increasing my army with 100pts available, but first lets have a look at the list.
185 - Grand Master: MC Sword and Incinerator
145 - Vindicare Assassin
195 - Venerable Dread: 2 TL Autocannons and Psybolts
195 - Venerable Dread: 2 TL Autocannons and Psybolts
470 - 10 GK Terminators; 2 Psycannons and Halberd, Justicar with Halberd, 3 Halberds, 2 Daemon Hammers, 2 Swords and Psybolt Ammo.
245 - 5 GK Terminators; 1 Psycannons and Halberd, Justicar with Halberd, 1 Halberds, 1 Daemon Hammers, 1 Swords and Psybolt Ammo.
315 - 10 Interceptors: 2 Psycannons, 1 MC Hammer and Psybolt Ammo
Total Pts: 1750
Total No: 27 (2)
Kills Pts: 7 (9 if divided using combat squad)
The list is pretty solid and Iím aware of itís weaknesses. The terminators advance laying down fire, dreads and assassin provide support and anti-tank while interceptors provide the army with a little agility.
So far Iíve come up with 4 possible ways to spend my 100ptsÖ
1 - Draigo
Upgrading my Grand Master to Draigo seems a good idea as it gives me a hard as nails character leading my force plus a someone to catch those deadly lascannons blasts with.
2 - Inquisitor
An Inquisitor with terminator armour, Psycannon and a few servo skulls and grenades and attach him to a terminator squad to add some additional long ranged firepower and take a few wounds.
3 - Paladins
Upgrade 5 terminators to Paladins with two Psycannons, to serve as a unit to soak up fire. I can easily make them scoring if I need to with grand strategy.
4 - Coteaz
He brings some interesting skills to the table such as his spy network and throwing him in with the advancing terminators will help against deep strikers.
Those are my ideas, please give me some feedback on them and suggest possible alternatives?

honestly, i think you need more troops. you only have 15 termies, and none of those have storm shields (unlike say, DA). A lot of opponents will have no trouble killing 15 termies, and effectively robbing you of a chance to win 2/3 of your battles. i' actually swap out the interceptors for more termies and/or strike squads.
If you want to stick with that base and just use the 100 pts then option then i think Draigo is the best option. he will at least help to stop some lascannons. Also, remember that he is tough enough to go on his own later in the game.
Draigo is ok but you should really design a paladin list arround him and to keep the model count reasonable the draigo lists all tend to look the same.
HQ: Do you really need a GM. He adds little in combat and the strategy may not be that useful. I would go for a librarian for the psy hood defence and 4-5 powers.
Elites: Only 2 dreads and no other rhinos etc to draw antitank fire means even though they are venerable these may not last long. Assasin too can be good but can easily die.
Troops: All good. I agree you are short but the strategy can be used to make the interceptors scoring. I doo like 10 man GKSS units with hammer, 2 PC and psybolts though.
Heavy: You could take 3 ordinary Psyflemen dreads for about the same cost aas 2 venerables.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Okay I'm now considering some changes to the 1750pt list which I would like feedback for.
First are the dreadnoughts, I thought at the time upgrading them to venerable dreads would allow them to soak up the firepower directed against them as theyíre the only armour value units in the army. But a bit of dice hammer at my store has made me question it effectiveness points wise. As I could easily drop the venerable upgrades and invest in 3rd dreadnought with a Mmelta and DCCW to advance with the terminators who would benefit from the reinforced aegis.
So which is better 2 Venerables or 3 basic dreads?
Second is replacing the grand master with a librarian as the advancing terminators will benefit greatly from abilities like the shrouding and then the quicksilver and might of titan when they finally reach close quarters.
However while the grand master can't help out during the advance his command abilities allow me to improve the interceptors effectiveness greatly with outflank and +1 to reserve rolls. I can also make the dreads and interceptors scoring for Ďseize groundí missions.
So which is the better leader the Grand Master Or Librarian?
Also if I do ditch the Grand Master will there be any point in keeping the interceptors or should they just be downgraded to a strike squad and placed in a rhino?
Anyway Iíd be grateful for any feedback regarding the changes?
Well took the list to a friendly tournament and realised two things;
1. The interceptors are a great ranged unit outflanking an enemy line in 1 game and shooting up a close quarters unit from a safe distance in another, certainly worth the points.
2. Compared to the Venerable status which is really not worth 60pts so I will instead be investing in a Melta/DCCW dreadnought later down the line, however sadly not in time for the tournament next month so I‘m looking to invest 120pts on something temporary and easy to build.
So here are the options I’m thinking about?
Inquisitor with Terminator Armour and Psycannon / Psycannon for the Grand Master
This gives the Grand Master some decent shots to add to the dangerous firepower the rest of the army is throwing out, plus the Inquisitor as well would can also take a few extra shots.
2 Paladins with hammers (1 Master crafted)
They’re job will be to hassle my enemies support units both with the ordnance template and hammers, not sure weather to keep them together for survivability or have them separate. They could also make a great last turn scoring unit?
So which one do you think I should go with until I can find the money to buy another dread?
