hey guys, i am new here and finally collected enouph models too play. here is my 1000 pts army
furioso dreadnaught,blood talons,heavy flamer,
sanguinary guards,death masks,chapter banner,power fist,infernus istal,plasma pistal,two bolguns
5 assault marines,power weapon
5 assault marines,power weapon
5 scouts with snipers,camo cloaks
i can relace the scouts and sanguinary guards for a furioso and 10 assalt marines
mephy in 1k, gulp... hes a lot of points for this size of army but hes very potent. dont be suprised if the enemy focuses fire on him...
the furiso, will probably be too slow to do much other than distrace firepower from mephy, which will probably help...sanguary guyard, loose the death masks. chances of them working are small for a minor improvement for the squad, im sure you could find a better place for the points, such as special weapons on the assault squads. other than that i dunno, 1k is hard for angels as everything is so expensive. its probably more gonna be how you play it that will make the difference in all reality, such as running meph behind an assault squad for a coversave and using the dread as a distraction till you can reliably get it stuck in...
thks for the advise, would u improve it in any way by removeing or adding models or is it good just the way my team is.
i dont know if changing models will improve it or weaken it. i think such a list needs playtested. for my self i make the core of my army 1k and then expand upon it for larger games. where as youve more advoided the core and went for the extras early. really i wouldnt take 1k too seriously as it can go wrong soo easily aswell as right. if you were shady id start with the dread as hes sooo slow, maby youd be better with the points spent on expanding the assault squad and scouts, or for devs. for comparison for my 1k is something like...
libarian- jumppack sheild, unlease rage
spiest, jumppack powerweapon
assault squad- 2 melta, fist(10 man)
assault squad 2 flamer(i know but was my first assautl squad) powerweapon and meltabomb
baal pred, heavy bolter sponsons
not an uber list but if played right works well together. but when i go to bigger games i add my sanguard, a second baal, a flamer back assault squad and mephy/the sang and whatever i can afford. if you have the models give it a whirl, tis hard to go wrong with mephy( cept against grey knights...)
You can run the list as is, except I'd recommend playing the Sang Guard as a counts-as Vanguard squad for now. That will help Mephiston and others cross the table safely. The Furioso will be stuck with guarding the Scouts but that'll be okay, I think. They need some protection with so few bodies.
Something you might try is fielding a Land Raider carrying your Assault Marines in place of the Sang Guard. It's always a gamble to bring something like an LR to a small game but doing so allows Mephiston to advance safely behind it. Ditto the Furioso, though (if you haven't already purchased it) you could add a Priest to the AM squad instead. Use leftover points to fill out the Scout squad and accessorize the Assault Marines.
