    [1000] Space marines- Own chapter, Storm Dragons

    Hey everyone,
    I wanted some help improving this tornement army, so could you please give some suggestions and help.
    Anyways heres the list:

    Hq
    Master
    power weapon, bolt pistol
    91

    7 man command squad
    trust your battle brother

    Troops
    8 man Tactical squad
    Trust your battle brother, plasma cannon, plasma pistol

    oh yeah; my drawback is Die standing as i cannot afford drop pods in points or money

    Your Master has no invulnerable save or decent equipment plus with that equipment he should cost 91 from my calculations.

    Definatly at least put a Combat shield on him or make him a Master of sanctity for a small points increase and get a decent invulnerable fearless and litanies of hate, much more survivable.

    Terminator Honours are also good.

    Put a powerfist swinging Sargeant in the command squad, you might live if you get assaulted bya dreadnought thatt way, plus being able to do dammage to big beasties like Carnifex.

    I play Dark Angels and used to play with all plasma Tactical squads, however I now always give a couple Lascannons, they can bust armour dont get hot and have longer range. Again melta guns and plasma cannon eem a little contradictory. An anti-heavy infantry and anti tank weapon. I f you want to deter tanks coming too close get a multi-melta in 1 squad.

    The Land speeders and Predator are fine though currently you seem to have all your anti-tank eggs in 1 basket which can be shaken or destroyed relativly easily.

    I disagree with the eggs all in one basket as the predator and the landspeeders(with assult cannons the are better than lascannons) are for tank hunting, and if they have the firepower to take them out they could take out a tactical squad with a lascannon easily, with the landspeeders i have killed loads of tanks and dreads as they are not seen as a threat.

    And in bigger matches i have a master with artificer armour and an iron halo but in small matches i dont bother but i will try to give him an invnerable save.

    1 lascannon at 5marines with Lascannon, hits, wounds 1 dead. 1 lascannon at Predator...BOOM. Although with ok armour its less likely but all bar 1 glancing hit will impair its shooting and all penetrating hits will.

    I have a squad of 3 LST's and although they can armour bust I much prefer them to undertake thier primary fire mission of anti-infantry.

    Ls's with Meltas wil be cheaper anti tank.

    On the commander Terminator armour including honours a 2+/5+ costs far less than Artificer, storm shield terminator honours, you may want to consider that.

    I don't agree that meltaguns are strictly anti-armour. They perform perfectly against heavy infantry. No save will withstand AP1 and it has a decent S.
    It only lacks in range and against monsters (high T).

    But there is quite some difference between the range of the plasma cannon and the meltagun. You'll probably only use one of them. Unless you face a couple of very aggressive and fast opponents.
    If you don't, I choose one of them. And then either have the squad slogging towards the enemy or waiting on them, blasting them with plasma cannons all the way.

    If you face fast enemies say troops in open topped vehicles, Gaunts, stuff with fleet then it may well be that you never get a shot off with your melta-gun. Although yes it can be used anti-heavy infantry the plasma gund oes just as good a job at double the range and at the same range double the shots.

    Plus S8 will wond the majority of big stuff on a 2+, Greater Daemons, Hive Tyrants and even the mighty t7 'Fex on a 3+

    get a dreadnaught

    if i read right you dont have a dreadnaught get one

    they are good and also a little tip i got from a friend is when building them dont glue on the weapons because they can slot on and off so you can change the dread for what type of army or plans you have with him for a battle(but you cant change weapons in middle of battle only before) remember to take away or add the point difference when changing weapons

    i did it but havent fought with him yet

    make the 3 8man tac squads into 2 6man squads and get a devestator squad

    Drop the fast attack you need som thing to take out tanks if pred gets blown up get a dreadnought or better yet 2-3 attack bikes with multi-meltas
