    [1000] DH list

    I constructed what i guess could be considered a radical army (without the daemonhosts, cuz they're too damn randomized for 1000 point games) to use for a group of ppl in a hobby store that fields 40k. as far as i know, my main enemies are imperial guard, dark eldar and witch hunters (they likely use other armies, but that's what i've seen played). the basic plan is to move up the transports accordingly and shoot transports first, so the russ and inquisitor can crush the passengers. when close enough, the fist will deploy and prove extra anti tank cover, while the storm troopers harass accordingly.

    HQ - Inq. Lord w/ Psycannon & Auspex
    w/ retinue of 1 sage, & 3 gun servitors with heavy bolters

    Troops - 8 ISTs w/ 2 plasma guns in a Rhino w/ Extra Armor
    - 8 ISTs w/ 2 grenade launchers in Rhino w/ Extra Armor
    - Armored Fist squad w/ Missile Launcher and Plasma Gun in Chimera w/ Multi laser and heavy bolter and heavy stubber
    - Armored Fist Squad w/ Missile Launcher and Plasma Gun in Chimera w/ Multi Laser and heavy bolter and heavy stubber

    Heavy - Lemun Russ w/ battlecannon and heavy bolter sponsons.

    = 1001 pts.

    suggestions anyone? this is going to be fielded on wednesday..

    I don't know much about DH, just started playing GK myself, but I know some people are gonna complain about that extra point. Even though it's only a point over most people will say that it's not a 1000 point list.
    Can't help much with the army list, but it looks like you only have about 23 models? I'd suggest more models, but it looks pretty good if your just gonna sit back and blow stuff up. To me it looks like it should do pretty good with your strategy.

    Armored Fists are ten models each (they're a squad of 10 inside a Chimera transport). I count 41 models and 5 vehicles, which is pretty damn good for a 1000pt DH list.

    I'd really suggest getting a second Sage in that HQ unit. And extra armor & smoke on the Russ & AF squads. Only way I can see you doing this easily is to drop one or both Stubbers, which really isn't a good thing. That said, I think this list is pretty damn good as-is.

    Just drop that silly auspex and you will be at 999 points, lol

    I would consider changing the 2 mechanized squads for 4 Infantry squads, it will be slightly cheaper but give you the option for a few more heavy weapons, which your army is lacking.

    What's with the Auspex hate on this forum? It's a great item for the cost.

    Im not saying its a bad item, im sayin its kinda silly to take it when it is the only thing in your army pushing you over 1000 points.

    One thing you COULD do is a calvary charge.

    Line up your tanks and FLOOR IT!!!!!

    like so:

    1 = Rhino
    2 = Chimera
    3 = Leman Russ
    0 = Ground

    0000000000333330000000000
    0000000000333330000000000
    0000000000333330000000000
    0000000000333330000000000
    0000222200000000022220000
    0000222200000000022220000
    0000222200000000022220000
    0000222200000000022220000
    0000000000111110000000000
    0000000000111110000000000
    0000000000111110000000000
    0000000000111110000000000

    Or what ever works for you!

    Or you can have the Russ following more slowly, I think it'd ba an unexpected tactic and if you deploy your tanks spread out enough you can make it look like your trying something completely different! Then you hit thier flank and move sideways!!!

    Note that this tactic is not certified and will most likly NOT work(But it'd be fun to do as far as I'm concerned!!!)

    IMO auspex are great. Anything that can help me blow away that Broodlord for 2 pts is fine by me.
