Now, you may have had doubts when you saw my Command tank, and the fact it wasn't a Vanquisher. I used the Exterminator for several reasons; 1)Its serious anti troop and light vehicle(11 shots!!!!!) 2) I like to be different(Which is also why I painted a Grey Knight Orange). My Command Exterminator, Normal Exterminator and Hellhound will go-a troop hunting, and there should be no lack of targets as most armies are mostly troops!

Also, NO BASILISK!!?!?! Well I'm sick and tired of seeing bassies EVERYWHERE! And I like to be different.

The Armored Fist Squads are there because I'll already have them and use them as allies for my SoBs, along with one of my Russes. and even Chimeras can be deadly!

Basically I wanted to do something different, so when replying to this don't just say "OMFG Y DUN U HAVE A BASSIE??!?!?!?!!? YUR LIST IS LAME!!!!!" Reply with either nicely typed Constructive Comments and or ideas for tactics.

    Thank you for reading,

    Mike

*twitches* Your list is lame. You don't have a bassie. *ahem*

I don't know much about armoured companies myself, like you I just recently posted my first armoured company list.

First off would be your command tank, a bs4 exterminator is neat because of all the shots it can fire on the move. I prefer Vanquishers or Demolishers instead myself, but you seem set on it and I won't complain.

I am curious why I seem to be the only one making use of the Ace Gunner's doctrine though. Reroll scatterdie, reroll 1's. It's such an awesome doctrine!

If you take a look at the Dusky_Sal's comment to my Armoured Company list, who accually adviced against using basilisk. He also told me to put in two armoured fist squads for objective capturing. Other than that I don't have much to say.

About time you laid down your silly flamers and picked up a real weapon instead. :p

Flamers not real weapons?! I'll show you who's a real man! Want me to come over there and slap you?!

Looks good, not really many comments just a few.

Sentinals - probabley a good buy, mobile anti-whatever you want

Tank Ace - You might want a different tank for this fella, you already have alot of normal Russ's already. Perhaps a Vanquisher or Demolisher would make the mix a bit more electirc and Versitile?

Doctrins etc - lose the Improved Sponsons. A battle cannon, and Plasma Cannons on a Russ will not work methinks. You can only fire 1 weapon a turn, even if you're not firing ordinance. Its a bit of a waste for a 238 point tank. It might be worth taking Machine God's blessing for at least your Command Tank. Would be a hell nasty Suprise for Eldar Players (and you often say you play a friend who has them). Or Maybe Ceramite armour.

Can you tell us the "plan" so we can give you more advice?

    Hope that helps,

Stpid rules saying you can only take 5 Doctrines....*Grumble*

Any ways, I don't have time wo work on the list now because I've got an exam today...But I'll give you guys the basic plan.

The 2 Exterminators and most likely the Hellhound and MAYBE one of the Lemans will Charde a flank moving 6" a turn and unleashing all guns(24 shots just from the Exterminators)

One armored Fist Squad will race forward to the object tive whilthe other advances slowly shooting guns and to not get pwned all at once.

The left over Russes will be more or less spread out evenly across the board depending on deployment, and will first engage tanks, get move onto infantry.

Of course tonight I'll work some more on it, but we'll what I do with it.

    Mike

Personally i think you should keep the improved sponsoons. The only thing that armoured companys can smash with their battlecannons are 2+ armour. You cannot instakill Hive Tyrants with a demolisher cannon, but you still need to produce enough wounds to kill it. Ignore the tiny buys, it's the big ones that you need to bring down.

You want alot of AP2 when the 2+ armours appear. AC's have big guns, but the number of guns are rather low, especially halfway though a game. If every tank has some AP2, your opponent will need to take out every tank in order to make his 2+ models "safe."

Good points there man, I forgot about the AP of battle cannons (stupid inferior Guard). I would look for some AP 2, but still not in the form of plasma Cannons. Dare I say... the bassie? *cringes*

    *slapped! Ouch!!!*

If you won't take the Bassie, take the Demolisher, the Vanquisher isn't AP2. The Demolsiher won't take up any Doctrines, so that should be fine. Also, if you play city-fight they will pwn. I would take 2.

    Basilisks aren't AP2 either.

I would add ap2 in the form of plasma cannon sponsoons. When that Hive Tyrant and its 4 wounds and 2+ saves pops up and your mighty demolisher cannon needs to hit four times before he goes down... no, you want plasmacannons and the best way is to Improved sponsoons. A Demolisher is only worth it if you take multiple ones.

Also, check page 4 in the Armoured Company Army List. At the top of the page there is a small grey box called 'Aces high special rules' saying that Command and Ace tanks must have spent as many points on doctrines as any other tank in your army. I suggest you recheck that they do.

"Flamers not real weapons?! I'll show you who's a real man! Want me to come over there and slap you?!"

Go ahead. I dare you! *polishes battle cannon*

"Go ahead. I dare you! *polishes battle cannon*"

Dare accepted. *sets heavy Flamer Setting on to "Burinate"*

Plasma Cannons might be the way to go, but you could take the laser-tank Destroyer. 10, AP1 I think.
