long fangs get heavy weapons, but I mainly use them as a suicide unit warping around the battlefield with the rune priest plasma gunning the most dangerous/expensive unit my opponnent might have, and they can also get side and rear armour with S7 wich is pretty decend on most tanks.

Should I try to squease another unit of wolves, as they guys do a great job holding up units untill the grey slayers get to combat,

    Some thoughts...

For AT you could also take this:

    8 Grey Slayers w/ 2 meltaguns
WGL w/ thunder hammer, Wolf Tooth Necklace/MotWulfen

Let that join the Rune Priest and zap to his biggest tank. That'll be gone.

Another trick might be a minimal unit of Long Fangs with missile launchers (costing 112 pts). They fit behind any cover.

Drop one Slayer squad for a squad of Storm Claws. 2 power fists and a WGL with dual claws and the MotW. Let them join the Wolf Priest.

And I always give every WGL a Runic Charm. In effect almost an additional wound for 5 pts.

A second unit of Wolves in 1.7k might be a good idea. To pay for it I'd slim the Slayer squads down one marine.

With eventual points to spare you could stick in a Wolf Pelt somewhere.

I've play tested to storm claws, and have mixed feelings about them, yes they are destructive, but the lack range and sometimes run around in circles, are get exopensive with all the upgrades.

How big the unit size do you suggest? I could drop a unit of grey slayers, but I would still need more points for a decnt size squad.

Also droping more grey slayers from each unit might put them dangerously close to falling below 50% too fast, but it could be an option, but min/maxing is a negative point in compo.

Saldy no, but the rune priest can warp around the battle field along with my 4 plasmagun longfangs, and they can dish out alot of pain as a distraction, until the grey slayers get there.

I am currently thinking about droping the long fnags though, in favor of the unit of sorm claws and more wolves, anyone got ideas on that?

Heres what I the List would look like:

    Hq

    Wolf Lord 160 pts
Mark Of Wulfen, Dual Lightning Claws
    Belt Of Russ

    Wolf Priest 120 pts
    Healing Potions And Balms

    Rune Priest 150 pts
Terminator Armour, Chooser Of The Slain,
    Frost Axe, Storm Shield

    Troops

    9 Grey Slayers 254 pts
    2 Meltaguns
Wolf Guard w/ Power Fist, Mark Of Wulfen

    9 Grey Slayers 254 pts
    2 Meltaguns
Wolf Guard w/ Power Fist, Mark Of Wulfen

    9 Grey Slayers 254 pts
    2 plasmaguns
Wolf Guard w/ Power Fist, Mark Of Wuflen

    Elites

    9 Storm Claws 264 pts
    2 Power Fists
Wolf Guard w/ Power Fist, Mark Of Wulfen

    Fast Attack

    8 Fenris Wolves 80 pts

    8 Fenris Wolves 80 pts

    8 Fenris Wolves 80 pts

    Models 63
    Total 1696 pts

If you take on the Storm Claws I propose dual lightning claws for the WG. 2 fists should be enough.
And with the Storm Claws there, you probably won't need to worry that much about the Slayers. You can expect them to draw a lot of fire.
Then give the WG a Runic Charm and stick the Priest in the unit to give extra durability soaking up a lot of fire.

And I don't like the MotWulfen on a character. Being hit on a 3+ while you hit most enemies on a 3+ anyway isn't that good.

If you think the Storm Claws to be too slow and you play a lot of horde armies, I'd take on 8 Wulfen.

And in this list you can have the Rune Priest warp over the battlefield with 10 Slayers, inlcluding 2 melta's and a fist. No tank will like that.

Good thought, The only caracter with MoW is the wolf lord, and he can take whole units by himself, but I guess the 30 pts I can save would be better invested elsewhere. Althought the runic charms are good, they make the wolf guards heavier than they already are, but I'll try to have some, here the revised list:

    Hq

    Wolf Lord 135 pts
Dual Lightning Claws, Belt Of Russ
    Melta Bombs

    Wolf Priest 120 pts
    Healing Potions And Balms

    Rune Priest 135 pts
Terminator Armour, Chooser Of The Slain,
    Frost Axe, Storm Shield

    Troops

    9 Grey Slayers 254 pts
    2 Meltaguns
Wolf Guard w/ Power Fist, Mark Of Wulfen

    9 Grey Slayers 254 pts
    2 Meltaguns
Wolf Guard w/ Power Fist, Mark Of Wulfen

    9 Grey Slayers 254 pts
    2 plasmaguns
Wolf Guard w/ Power Fist, Mark Of Wuflen

    Elites

    9 Storm Claws 274 pts
    2 Power Fists
Wolf Guard w/ Dual Lighning Claws, Mark Of Wulfen
    Runic Charm

    Fast Attack

    9 Fenris Wolves 90 pts

I'd drop the meltabombs for frag grenades for all your characters. These might be needed more often, especially since the Rune Priest will probably the one to start cleaning up tanks.

And maybe Runic Charms will make the Wolf Guard heavier, but as they'll be footslogging it might come in handy. Even with their scout move.
And would you say no to a 66,6% chance to save a 21 pts model using a 5 pts item?

Any idea about which armies you'll be facing?
