[1250] Space Marines - Help with last 250

I'm using this list in an ongoing escalation league, this week the points of our armies go up from 1000 to 1250. Enemies will most likely be Alaitoc eldar or Tau. What is the best buy for 250pts?!?!?

    Traits
    -See but not seen
    -Die Standing

    Currently:

Master of Sanctity w/bolt pistol, termie honors
Infiltrating Command squad x5 w/pair of meltaguns
2 Infiltrating Tac Squads x10 w/meltagun, Heavy bolter, and power fist sergeant
1 Infiltrating Tac Squad x10 w/meltagun and lightning claws sergeant
    Whirlwind

I have lots of models, was thinking maybe one of these:

Bike Squad x4 w/pair of flamers, powerfist sergeant, plus attached attackbike (H
    Auspex on all squads.

    or

Assault Squad x9 w/pair of flamers, powerfist sergeant
    Auspex on all squads.

    or

Scout Squad x9 w/ccw and bolt pistols, powerfist sergeant
    Whirlwind
    Auspex on all squads.

    or
Scout Squad x5 w/bolters, heavy bolter, stormbolter sergeant
    Whirlwind
    LS Typhoon
    Auspex on all squads

Hang on. He's got 1000 points, because that's what his league starts with, and he needs to add 250 to get to 1250 for the next game...not 1500.

I personally wouldn't add another Whirlwind, but it does depend on how your Tau opponent plays. If he has a highly mechanised force, you Whirlies may not be that useful.

I would definately go with a Landspeeder, with AC/HB for preference, but only if you can. You have enough squads infiltrating, so the scouts can probably stay at home, unless there's enough terrian for everyone to hide in.

The Bike squad could be good, especially if you go the other way and tool it up with two Melta Guns and a Multi-melta, again if you can. This would be your anti-tank/heavy infantry model.

It's a tough choice...but I'd personally go Landspeeder and Bikes.

I have lots of infiltrating meltas and essentially no tanks, so tau don't sound like a problem. The eldar rangers guy is undefeated, and i'm scared of those AP1 sniper rifles. I'd like to get some flamers into my army to deal with him (no cover saves), prefferably on a fast cc unit. Tau and rangers blow in combat, so I might not even need a powerfist for this squad. Landspeeder would be awsome, as well since rifles can't hurt it, so i can force target priority checks to mess with his shooting. I'm considering a Heavy flamer/MM version, it could kill so many rangers...

Get some vehicles to counter the sniper problem, maybe a predator destructor. His snipers will have a hard time penetrating that AV 13

Thought it over the last few days. Auspex doesn't seem as useful as i thought. I might do this:

    LS w/heavy flamer, MM
    whirlwind
couple more guys for the command squad

The flamer is pure ranger hate, and the MM will still be useful vs eldar. The whirlwind is good vs all 3 armies. Whatcha think?

The auspex should only be used against inflitrators that could hurt you in CC (genestealers w/broolord, ork commands, tooled up Sm veterans).

Scout Squad x5 w/bolters, heavy bolter, stormbolter sergeant
    LS Typhoon
    Whirlwind
I like this combination, but I usually have a difficult time using the whirlwind against eldar, especially with indirect fire, since most of the time I play eldar, they have very few troops. I like the scout squad, but if you have them I would go with either a LS typhoon and a LS with either MM/HF or AC/HB or two typhoons, etc. With so many meltas and infaltration, vehicles probably won't be a real problem, but I think two land speeders would be good against troop formations

Go with the bike squad. All around it covers the most bases and is fast enough to properlly support your infiltartors. The higher toughness and invulnerable save will keep them safer then all the rest of the units from those nasty ap1 snipers. And your right, the 12" moving 2x flamer will absolutely wreck both those nasty rangers and the tau. Especially when you add in the TL bolters and HB. OF course, they will wreck on the assault as well. Id definatelly go with them, they are your best bet against altaioc rangers.

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC

I concur with Chaosbrynn, the bike squad is probably your best choice given the enemies that you're likely to face. Against the masses of rangers a hit and run squad like either the bikes or assault squad would be good, could flame and bolter them to death then charge them with either option. But the additional HB that the bike squad would give tips the scales for me....it gives you just that extra bit of firepower that could better your odds prior to a charge.
