It's a very limited list but has a lot of power if used properly...
- Grand Master Weiss
-Master Crafted NFW
-Icon of the Just
- 4 Terminators
- 5 Grey Knights
- 5 Grey Knights
- Land Raider
So, what do you think?
My list is very similar to this one, and it also works very well. Because this is a small points list, I would leave out the Icon and Hammerhand, and only take the Sacred Insence if you know you're going to be fighting Chaos. Also, I would only go for 3 termies in his retinue and drop the Psycannon and put them in a LRC, that would be upgraded from the normal LR you have. This should give you plenty of points to include an anti-tank squad of ISTs and maybe extra psycannons for your PAGKs. Good Luck.
1500 years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the Universe
500 years ago everybody knew the world was flat
5 minutes ago you knew humans were alone on the planet
Imagine what you'll know tomorrow
There are two things I always tell people NOT to take in 1000pt lists: Grand Masters and Land Raiders (of any variety). You've taken both.
Let me guess. HQ unit goes into the LR? You'd be putting all of your eggs in one basket - something like 700pts worth of eggs, in this case.
How about more troops? Numbers are key in 40K. Hell, there's even a rule concerning being Fearless and outnumbered in a losing fight - you take extra wounds. Units of ~5 PAGK aren't going to win many fights, in my experience.
A land raider? In a 1000 point battle? You really gamble with your points there, land raiders are insanely fragile. Since your HQ is cc-based, I assume that they are in it, since it is your only transport, and that makes it even more of a point sink. Cant you get better transports, such as rhinos or chimeras for your HQ? The points you gain by doing so could also be used to get more men... 15 (beefed up & shiny) space marines does not last long.
EDIT: Im blind, mEGALOmAINIAC said just the same thing before me. Oops.
I wouldn't say THAT, but they ARE major targets. And since it's the ONLY vehicle in the army, your enemy'll have nothing else to shoot at. It will die, and probably quick.land raiders are insanely fragileActually, no. Terminators can't use Rhinos, and Chimeras are only allowed for IST and Inquisitors in a Daemonhunters army.Cant you get better transports, such as rhinos or chimeras for your HQ?
As Tau player I must say that I like your list, only 16 models to shoot at they will probably be gone in about round three if you are lucky. I would so much like to face it and the landraider...gone in round 1 so are most of your troops
You might includes some more models that could probably make it much more surviveable
The games I have played show that no one's expecting a Land Raider (or 14 Armour) at 1000 points. The games are won and lost depending on weather I get the Terminators into CC, and this list has worked in the few games I have played. The PA GK's are there to fill out the FOC, not to win the game. For the matter of winning assault, I haven't lost yet with 5 GK Terminators charging a unit, they usually kill more models then they have (meaning they won't loose combat) and in most cases kill the entire squad allowing me to *hopefully* consoldate into another squad.
It is a very fragile force, and is very risky, but if my GM and 4 Terminators get into CC, I've won the game.
Yes, get into combat with my 40+ boyz.. oo i'm TREMBLING in my boots...
I would suggest the GM at small points, he never failed me except when I deep struck him into oblivion...the land raider is risky as hell, my I suggest a LRC? If you do go with the LRC or not at least a meltabomb or two..
As for any shooty armies show them the PAIN of DSing GKT's
Marlin, why would he waste his terminators on your normal boyz when he could tear apart your command squad with them instead?
