    (1500) Space Marines

I was working on a more troop orentated list and came up with this (although I had to keep 2 Preds and a Dread )

      -Never Despair
    • Majour Drawback
      -Eye to Eye

    HQ
    • Master of Sanctity [145]
      -Crozius Arcanum
      -Rosarius
      -Terminator Honours
      -Space Marine Bike

    Elites
    • Dreadnought [110]
      -Assault Cannon

      -Missile launcher
    • 8 Marines [154]

      -Missile launcher
    • 6 Marines [113]
      -True Grit
      -Heavy Bolter
    • 5 Scouts [95]
      -4 Sniper Rifles
      -Missile Launcher

    Fast Attack
    • 5 Bikes [191]
      • Veteran Sergent
        -Power Fist
        -Bolt Pistol

    Heavy Support
    • Predator Destructor [110]
      -Autocannon
      -Heavy Bolters
    • Predator Destructor [110]
      -Autocannon
      -Heavy Bolters

    Total Points: 1500
    Total Troops: 43
    Total Bikers: 6
    Total Tanks: 2
    Total Dread's: 1

The Chaplain and the Bike squad will Turbo Boost on Turn 1 and assault on Turn 2, while the Dread walks forward in cover fireing the Assault Cannon, and assaulting anything that get's too close. The Missile Launcher and Lascannon squads will look for Tanks/ big targets to take down, while the Heavy Bolter squad and the Preads mowe down infantry. The Scouts will Infiltrate into a good shooting postion and will help out where they are most needed.

    So, what do you think?

I don't like the Missile Launcher in the Scout Squad. If you want a heavy weapon in there I would go for the heavy bolter. With 4 sniper rifles, I guess you'd be shooting at troops, so a heavy bolter would be better, and it has the same range as the snipers. Also, you have plenty of anti-tank weapons in the tactical squads. Also, I would take an Assault Squad rather than the bikes. They are better in combat, as they get an extra attack, and they are less points, allowing you to perhaps fit in a few more models for even more attack goodness. This would mean you're Chaplain could have a jump pack instead of a bike. This squad would be easier to wound than the bikes, however, the extra attacks should make upfor this. Also, I believe that if you dropped two more troops you could take a Land Speeder Tornado... I think...
The Imperial Guard is like a punchbag - No matter how hard you hit it, it'll always be ready for a fight.

Vcitory for the Imperial Guard comes about through the sacrifice of our men, not through the cowardly survival tricks of other armies.

The Bikes give me +1 Toughness, along with the ability to Turbo Boost, which is infinatly better than an assault squad, because even if you deep strike them, they will be shot at before they can assault, while the Bike squad will have an invulnerable save to deal with any incomming fire.

The scouts have the missile launcher becuse I fight mainly Chaos, SM, and Necrons making it more useful than a Heavy Bolter.

Firstly, if you mainly fight Chaos, Necrons and SM you really shouldn't bother with sniper rifles. If you do keep the sniper rifles, to attack Daemons and Scourts and such, then a Heavy Bolter is a much more compatable weapon.

I would consider swapping some of the missile launchers for either plasma or melta guns, that way you have no psychological blocks to moving your squads. I would also drop the 6 man squad and one of the predators to get 2 Land Speeder Tornadoes, and 2 power fist veteran sergeants.

If you mainly fight SM, CSM and Necrons, you've also probably chosen the least effective predator combination. Practically any other heavy support choice will be more use than two exterminators, Vindicator, Whirlwind, Pred Annihalator even a Landraider. I'd try and make one an Annihalator or a Vindicator and invest the others points in a Landspeeder with Assault Cannon (always great fun).

I don't really like all the heavy weapons all spread out. With all the true grit guys sitting still because of the heavy weapons. Drop the weapons into a dev squad. Get some sorta transport for your troops and get them into combat. I like the scouts but with only sniper rifles. I knocked down 2 Witch hunter walkers and a rhino with one squad in a game 2 weeks ago. Its just to easy to get glancing hits on 5 hits at 2+ and 2d6 on dam.

If your main opponents are power armours, Inwould suggest some plasma cannons and missile launchers, more than heavy bolters and autocannons really, the AP is what you need.

You could give your bikes a meltagun for armour and the move, rapid fire(bikes count as stationnary for shooting twin bolters) and assault wroks pretty well.

Give the Master Of Sanctity a Bolt Pistol, you don't want to miss out on an attacik would you?

I would not bother with a CC dreadnought Vs chaos and marines, as they all have hidden power fists, too risky. A venerable dread with TLLC and Missile Launcher, tank hunter would be a good solution for armour problems IMO.

your weapons ned to be pread in a better manner, I would not give a lascannon to a unit with a sargeant and powerfist, as they'll be goin to combat. a meltagun or flamer would work best.

fheavy bolters aren't very effective unless you have a devastator squad of them, move your lascannon to this unit and the oines who don't have a special weapon.
