I need some Daemonhunter Players to help me out a bit.
I just got my Daemonhunter Codex this week along with about 1000 points of GK's
1 Grey Knight Hero
2 Squads of GK's
2 Psycannon Blisters
I played my friend today(who is Chaos). I was able to crush his regular troops in a hail of holy bolter fire, and soon all he had left was his oblierators, Defiler and his DeamonPrince. It was looking good for me at the end of my turn, but once his oblierators crushed my Dread with their twin linked las cannons, nothing in my Army could stop the Defiler. He just tied up one of my GK squads while my other squad and my Terminators got picked apart by the obliterators. His DaemonPrince failed against my "Rites of Exorcism" and he kept his oblierators back, on my turn I could have blasted him but he has a 2+ armor save and I only had about 6 shots, I didn't want the Prince having the extra attack for rushing into combat. So I rushed him hoping my Force weapon would wound him and I would tear out his soul, but sadly the emperor was not with me and I missed. He then had his Oblierators join in and crush my heads with powerfists ewwww, all the while the other squad and the defiler threw rocks at each other.
My question is For an 1000 point army what has some good armor punch? I'm afraid that next time he'll just not take a defiler and use a Pred instead. Sure I can take Storm troopers with meltas, but I don't think I'll ever get in range. I was hoping to take my Ultra Marine Dev Squad, but if I do that I can't take GK's. Can someone help me out?
Well, in a pure Grey Knights army you are pretty much restricted to Dreads, Land Raiders and Thunder Hammer armed Terminators for anti tank.
Without taking allies, try for a Storm Trooper squad with meltas in a chimera (you can get these squads for about 150 points, or 130 if you take a rhino instead), alternatively you could add an elite inquisitor accompanied by some multi-melta gun servitors (135 points base for 3 servitors. Inquisitors equipment, psychic powers, other henchmen and any transport wanted are extra).
If you are willing to take allies, don't go with Space Marines (tempting as they are) which would require a fair bit of list adjustment anyway (for SM and Grey Knights in the one army the parent list must be the SM Codex, with the Grey Knights taken as allies), take Inducted Imperial Guardsmen. One platoon of Guardsmen doesn't cost a great deal (can't find the codex, so I can't give total points values for these) and you get a goodly number of heavy weapons, some useful special weapons, and a very useful number of men. Platoons are also multiple units, so each platoon can effectively split its fire. If you want to take two plattons, that also gives you the option to take a Leman Russ.
My own preference would be for a Platoon or two, but take what you feel will suit your own style best.
Greetings from Planet X, I hope you enjoy your day.

What I'd do is NOT take any of those GK Terminators in such a small game, aside from the necessary Hero. Stick the Hero in another squad, and use the points elsewhere.
A second Dread would be useful. One with TLLC/ML, and one with Assault Cannon/DCCW/Incinerator. If you lose the GKT, you can easily fit a second one in.
