    Tournament 1700 list, FIRE AWAY!

We have an upcomming 1700pt tourney, and I want to take an effective list. I am stuck on two Grenadier Squads, but am open to all critizisms.

    Doctorines:
    Grenadiers
    Veterans
    Cameoleline
    Drop Troops

    HQ
FLAMING CHIMERA O DOOM, COUNTER ASSAULT TANK
    JO, Power Weapon, Carapace
    Cameoleline
    4 Flamers
    Chimera, HF, HHF, Smoke

    Elites
BS4 LASCANNON TANK AND TERMIE DESTROYERS
3 Squads of 10 Veterans, Each with Lascannon and Plasma Gun and Cameoleline

    Troops
    MOBILE OBJECTIVE TAKERS, INFILTATOR DESTROYERS
2 Squads of Grenadiers, each with Vet Sgt, power weapon, one with two Melta, one with two Plasmas. Each mounted in Chimeras with ML, HHB, Smoke, Melta Vet Sgt has Honorifica.

    Fast Attack
    BURN BABY BURN!
    Hellhound, smoke
    MOBILE AT, PERHAPS DEEP STRIKING
    Lascannon Setinal, smoke
    Lascannon Setinal, smoke

    Heavy Support
    VAPORIZING TROOP KILLERS
Leman Russ, with HHB, Sponson HB, Smoke
Leman Russ Demolisher, with Hull Lascannon, sponson Plasma Cannons
    Bassilisk, Indirect Fire, Smoke

    55 Troops, 9 Vehicles.

My Demolisher and Hellhound attack, while the Russ and Bassie pound from away. The Lascannon Sentinals either deep strike or go with another tank (draw fire).

The Veterans Infiltrate to good fireing lanes to pop armor.

The Grenadiers do what has to be done.

My command squad is a counter - squad to flame out any attackin Assault marines etc.

    Be very afraid ...

Looks like a beautiful list. I wouldn't really suggest any changes. ^_^

Make sure you let us know how it fares.

It does have few HW compaired to a normal IG list, but I wanted a Tank Heavy list, and weighed taking a HB squad, or a Hellhound and the Hellhound won.

I either like a troop heavy list with few tanks, maybe a Leman and Bassie, or a Tank heavy list with lots of Armor. I do have the three Vet Squads that each have a Lascannon, so hopefully that will be enough with the Sentinals to pop armor and MCs.

I am hoping the the 4 tanks and HQ squad are up to the task of being my anti-troop capability.

Probably points, as they seem like they're going to be shooting at vehicles mostly anyways. The plasma seems to be, in my opinion, a backup option if those Terminators get a bit too close.

Yeah, I guess. It just seems like a waste of all that BS4 goodness not to fully trick out vet squads.

What i'll probably do is put all three in one squad that is closest to where I think the Termies will DS. The other two I'll leave with no SW, and just use the Lascannon.

Sounds like a pretty good plan. ^_^

I can just imagine that Terminator squad DSing within 12" of those bad boys.

    7 BS4 AP2 shots (including Lascannon) .. ha. That's roughly 4-5ish dead, eh?

Ya, a smart player probably won't, but its the deterrent factor I'm hoping for. Damn DS Assault cannons!

I had a Tournament game with a new SM player once, he DS them right near my Tanks, he shot at my Bassie and killed it. With a smug look he said ha. killed your Bassie. I moved from behind cover with the Demolisher, shot the Ordinance, stuck it, and killed 5 of 6 Termies, a plasma shot killed the other. I THOUGHT ha. Killed your 350pts of termies!
