    [1000][dark angels][first attempt]

    Hey guys,

    I am making the switch from a black templar army so i can have a shooty army and a CC army. Anyway, i settled on Dark Angels, and wanted to get a list together before i bought stuff. So here goes

    Epistolary librarian (177)
    Storm of wrath, might of heroes, artificer armor, frag, melta bombs, force weapon, bolt pistol.

    Venerable Dread (170)
    Missle Launcher, Lascannon, Tank Hunter, Extra armor

    Whirlwind (85)

    Tactical Squad (253)
    3w/ bolters, 1 w/ plasma gun, 1 w/ plasma cannon
    veteran sargeant, CCW and plasma pistol
    Razorback
    Lascannons, Extra armor, smoke, and pintle storm bolter

    tactical squad (135)
    4w/ bolters, 1 w/ plasma cannon, 1 w/ plasma gun
    sergeant w/ bolter

    Scout sqaud (85)
    3 w/ snipers, 1 w/ heavy bolter
    sergeant w/ BP and CCW

    Land speeder (95)
    Assault cannon and multimelta


    Thats 1000 points exact. My thoughts were the razorback, dread, and land speeder were kind of the anti-tank/high toughness killers. THe razorback squad would not be in the tank at all, just wanted a razorback. Ummm... I dunno what else to tell ya, so anything you can tell me will be great! thanks!

    Okay he has no squad to go with. Until he has one there is no way to improve him. you could have cc bike squad, shooty bike squad, cc command squad, shooty command squad, shooty terminator command squad. these are the best squads to put him with

    this is your only visible armour so should be ditched

    good but drop the veteran sergeant and just have a sergeant with bolter
    and also the pintle storm bolter drop it

    4w/ bolters, 1 w/ plasma cannon, 1 w/ plasma gun
    sergeant w/ bolter
    drop this for another of the above squads
    Scout sqaud (85)
    3 w/ snipers, 1 w/ heavy bolter
    sergeant w/ BP and CCW
    drop this to free up some points
    Land speeder (95)
    Assault cannon and multimelta
    you can't have this combination drop it as well

    ok i would also drop the whirlwind and the all the grenades and bombs from librarian. with extra points you may get a 8man 4 missle launcher devastator squad. but more likely a supporting squad for the librarian. this list has holes in it make a revised one to be improved instead

    Things you dont need: Artificer Armor, Melta bombs, Storm of the Emporers Wrath

    Things you do need: a sqaud to attach him to! Your also missing the compulsory Terminator honors and Stubborn for DA HQ's. Invulnerable save?

    2 top choices as an attached squad:

    Terminator command squad. Makes for a nice deepstriking nuisance. A change of powers would be in order.

    Bike Squad. Nice fast unit, can get him where he needs to be. Powerfisted sergeant to use might of heroes on.

    99 out of 100 times, it is far better to have a chaplain. More useful abilities in low point games and comes with an invulnerable save. All important! Id suggest going with a chaplain.

    Ok first off, drop the razorback. Its gonna die first turn every game, guaranteed. Anything on a rhino chassis should be steared clear from. ESPECIALLY at such a low point game.

    Drop the vet status and plasma pistol on the sergeant, you dont want them getting remotely close enough to this squad for him to use it.

    Much better. Although this squad should only be 6 marines strong.

    Why does the sergeant have BP + CCW? If your going sniper, you need to go ALL sniper. Still, in this size game, I wouldnt bring them. Drop the squad.

    Bad combo. Costs to much and isnt needed. Just go with the standard HB + AC.

    List needs a lot of work. best bet for what you seem to be trying to do:

    3 of those 6 man dual plasma squads. backed up by a whirlwind and speeder. Use the rest of the points to get a decent squad to attach the master to. For this list, id consider a bike squad. This way you have the bikes squad and speeder to bring firepower to where you need it amungst the 3 plasma guns and 3 plasma cannons. That should end up working well for ya. Id also consider swapping the plasma cannos for lascannons. greater range and higher strength more then make up for the loss of the blast template.

    Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
