+2x Assault Cannons
3x Land Speeder Tornados
+Heed the Wisdom of the Ancients
-We Stand Alone
Ok, I droped the Landraider for 3 Landspeeder Tornados, which I beleive will cause more damage than the LR.
Yeah, I kinda see how my lack of troops can and will be a major downfall, but I also see the chance of the Demolisher Cannons and the abundance of assault cannons opening things up.
Well, I'm play testing it soon, I'll post how it does.
Nice list, a few comments though:
Drop the Land raider, I think you need the points for these options:
You have underrated your vindicators 5 points each.
Are those 2 dreads just walking...
I would make 1 Drop Podder.
and the other one a shooter.
You need something to kill tanks yourself.
Since you do not want devastators, get a Annihilator with Lascannons, extra armour and smoke launchers.
Fine.Originally Posted by Black KatalystSince your whole army advances slowly, these are fine without drop pods.Originally Posted by Black KatalystThese should have meltaguns instead of plasma guns. The reason being that with the melta guns, you can fire them in the same round you assualt while the plasma guns would keep you from assaulting. No need of the teleport homers, I think you misunderstand what they are for. The only thing TP homers do is allow you to teleport terminators next to the squad with the TP homer without scattering. They in no way allow the tactical squads to deepstrike. The only way to deepstrike these is with drop pods.Originally Posted by Black KatalystNo problems here.Originally Posted by Black KatalystThis I would drop. It has no place in a 1500 list. 3 Land speeder tornadoes would do you much better and fit your medium range theme perfectly. Alternatively, well, any use of these points other then a LR would be a better use of them. Seriously consider dropping this.Originally Posted by Black KatalystThats fine but your playing a dangerous game fielding so many of your points in vehicles. SM famed resilience is only in their troops. Our tanks are notoriously pitiful. The best way to deal with this is either field no tanks, or field LOTS of tanks. To this end, id seriously consider dropping the landraider for 3 LST's or 2 more dreads.Originally Posted by Black KatalystUhhh no, go read the TP homer entry in your codex. Notice how it doesnt say anything about allowing the squad that has the TP homer to DS.Originally Posted by Black Katalyst

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
I didn;t saw the what he said about the TP homer.
And of course it's rediclulous.
paying 5 points for a squad to drop pod it. Seriously, no way.
else, everyone would be taking it, why do you think drop pod cost 30 points, DS is frikking good!
lol sorry for the misunderstanding, when I said "them" in respects to the TH, I meant the terminators.
I'm rethinking the setup of this army, I'll update it soon enough.
Oh, I droped the teleport homers to pay the extra 5 points on the Vindicators.
I'm trying to field a very similar list ... check it out. I'd like to know what you think.
It is nice to see viable, non-standard set-ups on this forum ... no 'ffense to those who give advice all the time, but I dislike the idea that everyone and their grandmother wants to field the same 8-man missile launcher squad, chaplain with assault squad, etc, etc.
it looks ok but you will have very few bodies on the table.
You have 25 models in a 1500pts list. You'll get turned over by the majority of any eldar ork or nid army and possibly people who play swarm marines.
I would drop the land raider and get another tactical squad hell maybe one of the vindactors and get another tactical squad there too
just an idea

OK as a general point, after 20 years of the game, the reasons there are standard army lists are because these are the ones that work!
OK that out my system, it isnt a bad list, it is low on minis and will probazbly suffer for that reason, but this is principly due to a lot of high cost minis (terminators, dreads, tanks etc.
I agree with Brynn about the land raiser, but would not droip any more than that, hope you have fun
