    1500 General Daemonhunters Army

Okay, time for the forum noob to try an army...

Here's a basic army list that I'm working towards. A great deal of it is untested, largely because I'm stuck without opponents or a car with which to meet any  . However, this jumped out to me as an idea that could work, so here goes. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    HQ
Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Lord- Psycannon, Refractor Field, Auspex, Word of the Emperor
2x IG Veteran Henchmen- Plasma Guns
    1x Gun-Servitor- Plasma Cannon
    2x Sage
    1x Mystic
    Total: 211 pts

    HQ
Grey Knight Brother Captain- meltabombs, Deep Strike
    3x Grey Knight Terminator
    Total: 204 pts

    Troops
    IS Veteran Sgt- hellpistol, CCW
    7x IS
    2x IS- meltaguns
Chimera transport- turret ML, hull HB, pintle SB, smoke launchers
    Total: 230 pts

    Troops
    GK Justicar
    4x PAGK's
    2x PAGK's- Incinerators
    Total: 220 pts

    Fast Attack
    GK Justicar
    4x PAGK's
    2x PAGK's- Psycannon
    Total: 250 pts

    Elites
    Callidus Assassin
    Total: 120 pts

    Heavy Support
GK Land Raider- pintle SB, smoke launchers
    Total: 263 pts

Army Total: 1500 pts. Model Count: 38

There it is. The Lord should (when I finish the squad) serve as fire support to target light vehicles and heavy infantry; WoE power should give him an extra turn to shoot at fast chargers, as Orks and Gaunts (that are too far away from a Synapse Creature) have low Ld. An auspex and Mystic give him plenty of shots against anything particularly sneaky.

The Troops PAGK's and IST's take a flank in the LR and Chimera to open up space for the other teleporting units. The enemy can then throw his whole force at the GK's to overwhelm them, or back up and shoot. The Callidus serves as a good roadblock for either of these tactics.

Before anyone goes "wow lol what a n00b never take a LR in under 2000 pts" I have both Seraphim and an IG Infantry Platoon full of ML's and GL's that could be substituted. Once again, any feedback would be great.

Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Lord- Psycannon, Refractor Field, Auspex, Word of the Emperor
Not sure that the refractor field will do you any good, anything that requires an inv. save will have wiped out the rest of the retinue, so at that point, he's nearly useless.
Grey Knight Brother Captain- meltabombs, Deep Strike
    3x Grey Knight Terminator
    Total: 204 pts
Termies can't carry any types of grenades which includes meltabombs, they don't have an * next to the wargear entry. If you want something that can deal with armor, take a thunderhammer storm shield combo.
    IS Veteran Sgt- hellpistol, CCW
    7x IS
    2x IS- meltaguns
Chimera transport- turret ML, hull HB, pintle SB, smoke launchers
    Total: 230 pts
For anti-tank squads, I would suggest taking the Rhino, it's cheaper and has another firepoint that you can shoot out of to keep the squad safe.
    GK Justicar
    4x PAGK's
    2x PAGK's- Incinerators
    Total: 220 pts
Check your math, it's wrong. If this is to be an assault squad, give it several more members, up to 7 or 8, the more the better. If you have to, take out the other squad to fit them in.
    Fast Attack
    GK Justicar
    4x PAGK's
    2x PAGK's- Psycannon
    Total: 250 pts
    Again, check the math
GK Land Raider- pintle SB, smoke launchers
Don't bother with the SB, it doesn't add much in the way of fire power.

    Justicar = 50 pts
    6x PAGK's = 150 pts
2x Incinerator = 20 pts (unless in Purg Squad, then = 30 pts)
2x Psycannon = 50 pts (unless in Purg Squad, then = 60 pts)

    50 + 150 + 20 = 220
    50 + 150 + 50 = 250
Hope that clarifies, there are 7 total models in each squad.

True about the meltabombs, I saw them on a GKB-C on a Games-workshop.com army list and you're right. Now I have to find the peices for a thunder hammer/storm shield Terminator.

And buy a Rhino, though I'll keep the Chimera on-hand because it mounts lots of anti-infantry weapons. I was thinking I might convert a bolter-melta for my Veteran Sgt, to drive the point home, or a bolter-flamer for emergency anti-infantry work.

Honestly, the Pintle SB was something I glued together when I first started, I got a Land Raider because it had lascannon (which the DH generally lack) and because it was the most points. Give the n00b a break. Though with the new Assault Cannon rules, I might just as well get a LR Crusader anyhow.

    Thanks for the help.
