hey im new to space marines, but im planning to start a small 500 point force of wolves, which i can use in combat patrol games.
here my list
wolf leader w/ frost blade, belt of russ, wolf belt, bolt pistol and frag grenade
13 blood claws w/ 1 power fist, 2 power weapons and meltagun
6 wolf scouts w/ 2 plasma pistols and a meltagun
and thats my list
Space Wolves rock,
never forget that.
I will look what I can do for you.
firstly, your list is illegal.
You will have to have Grey Hunters in your army.
And you have to have 2 troops, scouts are elites in Space Wolf armies.
So, to get a legal list, which doesn't overkill, and uses the strong points of the Space Wolves, we are going to do this:
Wolf Guard Battle Leader w/ Frost Blade, Runic Charm, Bolt Pistol, Frags, Auspex
8 Grey Hunters w/ Bolters, CCW + 2 Powerfist + meltagun
8 Blood Claws w/ 2 Powerweapons
5 Wolf Scouts w/ 2 Plasma Pistols + Meltagun
Wolf guard joins with the Grey Hunters.
Grey hunters tactically advance and kill stuff with Bolters/ Powerfist
Blood Claws just run around killing stuff with thousand CCW attacks.
Scouts shoot up nasty **** after infiltrating / OBEL
i thought it isnt illegal? coz in combat patrol, like things that need in in the army is removed, like you dont need an infantry platoon to take an armour fist squad.
oh you meant patrol.
lol, I forgot. :o
then I will work completly from your list:
Blood Claws are nice, but no real Marines, they are hard, but not capable enough in patrol. either go all Blood claw then, or not at all.
Real mean in such games are Grey Hunters. With the incredibly load of PF'st in 1 squad, it's hard to stay out of it's way and out of the Scouts way as well. Also you don't need the Wolf lord. With 2 wolf leaders in Scouts and grey hunters, they can handle all things coming their way.
I recommend to kit those points out the other way:
Your Scouts are nice, but not scary enough.
give them 2 powerweapons too. That will hurt alot on your enemies, from such a low point squad. Your better of with Grey Hunters and Blood Claws and Scouts and drop the Battle leader complety. I would go (with the idea of your list)
8 Grey Hunters w/ Bolt pistols and CCW, 1 Meltagun, and 2 powerfists.
Wolf Guard leader w/ Powerfist and Bolt Pistol
(strong squad, can kill EVERYTHING ingame)
6 Scouts w/ 2 Plasma Pistols, 1 Meltagun, 2 Powerweapons.
(real nasty squad, not too much points, and a superlarge treat to the enemy.)
And to finish it off, Blood Claws:
9 Blood Claws with 2 Powerweapons.
(can someone say: maniacs with scary swords running across the table soaking up bullets like a magnet, survive and feast on the bones of fallen enemies? This is truly THE firemagnet in Patrol, making your real good units do what they do best: surpisingly kill everything on the board.)
If you hadn't noticed, I left you with 12 points to upgrade stuff from you like. Like I would love a Bolter-Melta for the Wolf Guard (definitaly killing material) Or you could get the Grey hunters and Bolters (and the Wolf guard too, just swap bolt pistol, he's for free) and get a powerfist in the Blood Claws squad. or you could get 2 powerfists in the Blood Claws squad and put in another piece of wargear on the Wolf Guard. Endless possibilities, do as you like, as long as you don't put a Meltagun in the Blood Claws, those ten points could be better spend.
Hope that helped.
But you still need Grey Hunters, since they are entered in the army list as a 1+ option.
Not anymore in revised 40k in a Flash.Originally Posted by Pierced53
And I inclueded them in every example list I gave.
Hope the revised thingy helps you in your 40k flash list too.
hey, waht the heck, in 400 points I field 25 Blood Claws with 5 Powerfists
thats a good list i like them both. thnx ill jsut see this weekend if i can use it and maybe alter it to my playing style
great ^_^ Happy to have helped.
Hope altering it to your style is something to do.
btw. If your going to max out the army, and want something meaner then 8 termies in a crusader, get yourself: 13 blood claws with 3 Power Weapons, 1 Pack Leader with Lightnign Claws and frag Grenades, 1 Rune Priest with Stormcaller in a Crusader ^_^ That's some second turn eating trough any army like cookies power ^_^
I seem to use ^_^alot
would change the cc weapons to bolters be good on the blood claws?

ah, you get it.
It's just not worth it, Blood Claws are Charge-monsters, just let them charge and let them be. They are rock-hard as they are.
