I usually use this as a static firebase with my Chaplin Turbo-Boosting to trouble spots or Boosting straight at enemy firebases depending on whoI am playing. Marine Squad 1 will adavance while Squad 2 and the Scouts provide covering fire. The Land Speeder seek out Basalisk or equivelent. Dread 1 tank hunts, while Dread 2 kills light infantry. Terminators exploit enemy weaknesses. Devastators hunt tanks or heavy infantry, depending on the situation.
Thanks in advance for the help.
What skill does the devastor squad have? If it's tank hunter, that's overkill with lascannons. You'd be better off going with flexible missile launchers if that is the case.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone

Are you playing only IG? If so, the chaplain seems like a nice choice, IF NOT hes extreamily explesive and wastes two of his best abilities, allowing all members of his squad to reroll failed misses to hit, and allowing a squad to be fearless, with no supporting units, he also lacks terminator honnors, which should be the 2nd upgrade for every chaplain in your army, first bolt pistol, then terminator honnors, then the other wargear, ect. Lose the veratain sargent in the devistators, if something assaults them, you will lose the game any way, having that extra powerweapon isnt going to help. Lascannons are to expesive in devistator squads, dont mix weapons, if you really want to, id suggest 2x missles 2x LC, or 2x plsama cannons 2x heavy bolter, all would be more effective with all 4 types alone. Make venerable dreads have TLLC/ML tank hunters, for both, orther wise ditch this choice.
This list needs a lot of work.
Your tactical squads have veteran sergeants in them. I would try to scrape together the points to give all of them powerfists. It gives your squads a little more close combat ability. You may also want to get rid of the tank hunter ability for your terminator squad, if your lucky enough to get a rending shot at a tank yourchances of causeing damage are quite high without this ability.
I like the list with a few changes. First i think that missle laucnchers are what you want for you devastators and i would get a small sqaud of bikes to fit in
I agree with this, only if you want your tactical squads getting up close. If you would rather have them carrying HW, then you don't want to waste points on a Sergeant who will probably never see much CC action. Make your tactical Squads more objective/role specific, like if you want one squad to worry about large amounts of troops, then a PG and a Hvy Bolter will probably be the way to go, or have one squad with a CC sergeant adn a Flamer to get close and take out critical enemy squads.Originally Posted by sharkimus
The other suggestion I have is throwing in an Assualt Squad (10 man, 2 PP, PF Sergeant) adn have your Chaplain have a jump pack. You can get this squad up close and spell trouble for your enemy. If you coudl fit that in somehow, I think that'll work. Hope this helps.
I agree with silenthunters thoughts on the tactical squads but i think bike squads are more effective and they look really cool to.
its a good list, but there are a few things id change, for one the chaplain should have a jump pack not a bike,i know you get longer range and higher toughness, but you can just as easily deepstrike him,the termy squad should have furious charge not tank hunter because even "shooty"termies are beasts in cc.1 more thing,i think the scout squad is to big-drop it down to 6 men and spend the extra points on the land speeder, heavy bolter and assualt cannon gives you a whooping 7 shots!!id take full advantage of that fact
INNOCENCE IS NOT IMMUNITY
I've seen a good number of people who like the bikes, and IMO, I don't really like them. I mean what's different between them and, let's say Land Speeders? I knwo you can put like a Chappie on a bike but I guess I'm more of an Assualt Squad fan.Originally Posted by Deek
