    1500 pts marines, tournament

    have not played marines in a while, was playing DE... i'm planning to have some practice games before the actual tournament with this list, so what do u guys think??

    i wasn't sure whether to take another squad of Veterans or a full tactical squad with a multi melta and plasma gun... i went w/ the Vets coz they provided a more punch in cc...
    i've read some of the tactica and i'm not sure whether i did this right...

    Drop one of the veteran squads to get a 10 man tactical squad. use the xtra points to make your scout squad at least 8 man. take extra points also to use all your heavy weapon slots in your dev squad and make it 8 man, other than that, it has numbers, a strong hq and some good support, i still would worry about your capabilities of destroying mass numbers, you might want to swap out the landspeeder for a whirlwind

    thanks for the feed back...

    i've changed the list a little, took away the veteran squad (-260pts) and added a tactical squad with multi melta, plasma gun, sergeant w/ power fist, and all have inflitrate (+235pts)... also added one more scout with sniper rifle (+18pts) and bionics for the Reclusiarch (+5pts)...

    Those devs dont need infilrate, it will only allow the enemy to reach you faster, but its fluffy, in any event, pick either 3 or peferably 4 MLs, with either 6 or 8 models. You only need 1 melta gun in your command squad. Do not change the veterans to tactical squads, instead, take away the power fist, then they are the same cost, with bolt pistols and CCWs, and frag granedes, starting at 18 inches away, this will be way more helpful.

    The bikes seem totally out of place in this list, although kool, its almost like they will be arriving as reasevers, instead of being fast attack. Since they will have to boost turn 1 to get up with the rest of your army. Similar oddity with the skimmer although skimmers are quiet point effective.

    Im almost temped to advise you to change your traits, and take a dreadnought or some terminators, a nice 5 man squad with drop pod could really unleash some havic on the lines of the enemy. Or maybe a dreadnought.

    Id replace those scouts with a true tacitcal squad, infiltrate, plsama cannon/gun, this unit is extreamily deadly starting 24" from your enemie's lines.

    should i drop the bikes for terminators??
    coz i'm thinking either bikes or terminators...
    or should i drop the bikes, change the hq to a librarian with terminator command squad and add an extra vet sqaud??

    I almost think the terminators could operate without the HQ, in this list. Since terminator usually do poorly in assault, because of low numbers, and striking last, but are excellent, when combined with other units. Id say just switch the bikes for terminators. And then fix the devistator squad. If you have left over points, pick up a couple of shooty tactical squads. Peace

    i've drop the bikes for terminators, and gave some sergeants teleport homers... drop the lascannon on my devastator squad and got 4 missile launchers...

    1 melta gun is probably enough. Model the homer on the sgt of this squad, that will look cooler, he will also be the last model to die in the squad, making it safer then your HQ. consider ditching combat shield.

    ACT! no no no. Keep the 2 veteran squads, they are way better, OR keep this squad cheap. As in, Plasma cannons plsama gun, 4 bolters, infilrate, and your set. it should cost about 138. Simply take 2 of these squads. Sorry mate, but the scouts really need to get outa this list. Another way of doing this would be to take the veterans you had before, and lose 1 powerfist fromt he squad, take the trait, that allows you to hold bolt pistols and CCWS, and count them as a troop. Thats your best option.

    Perhaps: 10 total man, tactical squad, BP + CCWs, 1 with melta gun, infiltrate, vet sgt, powerfist BP, nothing else. [184] Then take the shooty tactical squad. [138] Total of 358. This is the exact same cost your spending for the 2 troops squads you have now. But more effective.

    These could use 1 more man. Maybe make the 10 man tactical squad above, 9 man, and give them some extra portection, since they will be pretty close, i image to the enemy.

    Good list though, i really like it.

    And 2 teleprot homers is plenty.

    New traits would need to be: Take the fight to them, and see but dont be seen.
    Draw backs: Eye to Eye, and Die standing.

    thanks a lot... the reason i took to scouts and the tactical squad coz i needed 2 minimum troop choices coz my bike was a troop choice... made the changes already...
