    ultramarines [1500 pts] break it,make it oppinions wanted

    i would like oppinions on this list.
    first i want to ask a question.
    why do poeple advice on taking a 6 man squad or even numbers? does it have to do with 'ablative' armor type of issues and morale checks?

    I'd dump all the meltabombs and krak grenades (say no to krak). I'd also make one of the dreads a TLLC/ML and make him venerable.

    A mate of mine uses a similar librarium and assault squad together its not bad but can be exterminated with relative ease.

    my favourite (even at 1500) is to take a terminator hero with a 4 strong terminator bodyguard (w/ 1 A.C) and a second 5 strong T squad, Add a LR (normal) and you have the option to either deepstrike hero squad or stick them in the LR.

    That's just my opoinion, otherwise your list isn't bad, mobile and quite shooty, although LS do tend to suffer from be picked out as they advance in front of the army (and that hurts!).

    the comment about the landraider and a second squad is good, so you can always make your army flexible even with the same list.
    Altho it's considered bad sportsmanship to begin changing the contects of the raider while gaming when things go wrong with it. Just pointing out. it's a thing i won't do nor that i like to see doing.

    It is pretty good list, and IMO I wouldn't bother with the Land Raider that was suggested

    VINDICATOR,your absolutly right!

    Its just that you can right it up a list like it and change for each opponent without the need for more models (great if you play at GW where the hero might be better deepstriking than in the LR).

    I didn't say you should change contents mid-game only before hand (I won't change LR contents mid-game) so you can kind of tailor your force to your opponent BEFORE the game

    outsider, why would the lib squad be taken out that easely? it has similar stats almost as a chaplain, and the reason i take him is to nullify the occasianal psychic attack that some races( eldar) can perform on specific targets.
    Keeping the speeders in seperate squads is both beneficial and a bane.
    pro: 2 squads must shoot both to take them both down
    multiple hits can't be transferred
    con: they may not arrive on the same moment when trying to deepstrike.
    a question, can 2 characters join the same squad?

    He gets taken out as noone wants him to hit their line in one piece, but putting him in T. armour and bodyguard in the belly of a LR they can't be picked off by average strength multiple shot weapons, E.g H. bolters, scatter lasers etc.

    No I don't think two characters can join the same squad (although space commander command squads can have either a chaplin or lib. attached to them).

    you can attach multiple guys to one squad. So you can add a chaplain and librarian and a commander to your command squad if you can't resist :tongue:
    and facing psychers is a more than resonable excuse for fielding in Librarian.
    Personaly I field Librarians with Fear of the Darkness and might of Heroes, but then again, I like to scare people

    the matter is , that a command squad can't consist out of jumppackmarines. so mobility would be impared, or i need to send them in a landraider.
    Can tyranids harm a landraider easely? or does it have a fair chance of getting in their lines?
    haven't been numbercrunching on the statistics really, and i don't really know the Nids either.
