I might have added to many melta weapons, but overall I think this is a pretty solid list. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Traits: Cleanse and Purify
Take the fight to them
Master of Sanctity
- Term Honors
- Jump pack
- Bolt pistol
- Drop Pod
- Heavy Flamer
- Heavy Armor
- Smoke Launchers
3X 10 Marines
- Term Honors
- Drop pod
- 2 Melta-guns
- All CC weapons and BPs except 2 melta in each squad along with PF
5 Biker Squadron
- Term Honors
- 2 melta- guns
3 Land Speeders Tornadoes
10 Assault Marines
- 4 missile launchers
- Vengeance Missiles
A very interesting list indeed, making the best use of the drop-pod as possible, eh?
I see you've taken Chaosbrynn's advice on the Chaplain-led Assault Squads and LST's. Pretty standard, but solid.
The only thing that might get some flak for on this board is the Heavy Flamer on your Dreadnought. I know you're planning on drop-podding right on-top of your enemy, potentially making good use of the HF. I've personally never used this tactic before, but from what I get from others on this board that have tried similar tactics say that the flamer in and of itself isn't a great weapon in the first place. If you haven't already, you might want to take a look at the flamer tactica in the Space Marine FAQ. Its got some good advice in there.
All in all, no major complaints, a solid army base.
Just for kicks, you might want to consider trying to give your Dreadnought a multi-melta too, since that seems to be a theme running in your army. The Throne of Judgement has a Drednought-sized triple-barrled Melta that would be ever-so imposing on the battle-field.
You could easily write in some fluff about this chapter having close ties to the Ordo Hereticus, what with the Chaplain HQ, meltas and flamers and all. :realmad:!!!BURN THE HERETIC!!!:realmad:
Hmm... for some reason the tactica's won't come up any more. However, I think the heavy flamer is quite good even if the dreadnaught is slightly off in the deepstrike. You automatically hit (hopefully) a large amount of troops with the heavy flamer and then assault cannon the squad to death. As for switching the assault cannon for the multi-melta, I thought about it, but I figured I already had enough meltas on the board, and the assault cannon is, in my opinion, one of the best guns in the game, so why swap it out for more points? Thanks for the feedback.
But I do like the idea of BURNING THE HERETICS!
