    500 points, ultra, please evaluate!

    This is my first stab for an upcoming escalation league.

    How does this look? I don't know what enemy I might face first with this:


    Reclusiarch Chaplain , TH , Jump Pack, Pistol (121 pts)

    7 Assault Marines, jump packs, ccw (176 pts)
    1 Sgt, TH , Power Fist, Pistol (52pts)

    3 Scouts, 3 sniper rifles , Heavy bolter + (59 pts)
    1 Sgt (13 pts)

    3 Scouts, 3 sniper rifles , Heavy bolter (59 pts)
    1 Sgt (13 pts)

    Total 493

    Better format would probably be

    5xScouts
    -3xRifles
    -1xHb

    and

    8xAssault Marines
    -Vet sarge
    -P.fist
    -T.honors


    Keeps things a little easier to follow.


    The over all idea works pretty well, but against anything in power armour you might not fair too well if they have plasma and you don't.

    hmm... let's see.

    The Chaplain is very solid, but give him frags because the Assault squad frags don't carry over to him.

    Your scout squads are both a man short. You've got 3 scouts and a sergeant, but read your codex - minimum of 5 men.

    Also, your points are off. . Your points are really 495, and you're short 26 points of Scouts.

    This list plays a little differently then the previous one with less emphasis on the chaplain and assualt squad and more emphasis on shooting. The idea is to let the enemy come to you under fire of the 2 missile launchers. When they come in range, the plasma guns start to open up too. The turh before you are to be assaulted, your chaplain and assualt squad jump forward and charge your would be assaulters.

    The key to success with this army and tactic is to not block your lanes of fire from the 2 shooty squads when you make your assault. Easier said then done, but try anyways.

    More importantly, this makes for an excellent base for escalation league. You wont regret having any of those units or weapons while the same cant be said about the snipers.

    Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC

    First please let me apologize for posting the point values in my original posts. I will not do that again! I did not read the rules before posting (sorry!), it is a perfectly understandable rule, and I will not violate it again. I appreciate the discrete, yet forthright way you handled it. Furthermore I wish to thank you immensely. I thank you for the outstanding guidance, but mostly I thank you for the kind and professional manner you used in your post. I was afraid I would get seriously "flamed" for posting something stupid, and you could have done so, but you did not.
