    [1500] Daemonhunters and Imperial Guard List - Help Please!

    This is my list versus an Ork army, any comments are welcome, good or bad say what you want! . Need some tips and im not sure if it is legal because of the imperial guard, im not sure if I need a command squad or not, would be helpful if someone filled me in on that . I have some spare points I know, Im not sure what to do with them. Many thanks

    Well your Inquisitor Lord needs a retinue...but that can easily be changed by switching him to an elite inquisitor.

    Your Guard Squads are not legal...I suggest you look here...

    Also, you need to have at least two Daemonhunter units as troop....once again this is easily fixed by switching your fast attack to troops.

    It's close to legal, but you'll have to shell out some points to make those guardsmen platoons or armored fist squads.

    Thanks, thats what I wasnt sure about. So does that mean I have to take 2 Platoons (2 command squads, 40 guardsmen) to take a leman russ?

    Yes, or you can take 2 Armored Fist squads. Or 1 of each.

    Yes, all he is saying is that you need two complete IG Troop Choices to be able to take a Leman Russ, and a Armoured fist squad is a complete troop choice.

    Inquisitor Lord - Power Weapon, Combi-Meltagun, 75pts (75pts)
    If the only reason you have this guy is to get the assassin, then put him in the elites slot and drop the power weapon and combi-melta. As it is now, this guy is terrible in cc, even with the power weapon, and he doesn't even have a pistol. On the other hand, he is ok at shooting, but the points sink into the power weapon makes no sense. Even looking at it this way, that combi-melta will get no use because no tanks will be stupid enough to chance getting too close.

    With the IG, I suggest taking a platoon and an Armoured fist squad, I do it and it works out fine. With the Platoon, you have a lot of flexibility in how many squads and which weapons to take. Plus, while many people think that the IG's weakness is tanks, it is actually heavy weapons, the tanks are just a nice little addition. Because of this, instead of taking the plasma gun in the second squad, try getting another missile or something that can better compliment your own weaknesses.

    In general tactics, stay out of close combat as much as possible and pour fire into their vehicles. Keep in mind that most of their vehicles are fast and open topped, which means that they can assault right out of them.

    Ive taken in what everyone has said and tried to improve my list. I am 95pts over 1500 atm and I know that. Some help with what to take out would be nice

    Your new list is much better, but you have some uselless units, (Inquisitor, IG Command Squad, Armoured Fist Squad etc )

    You are trying to put too much in a 1500pts list. Personally I like what you are trying to do:yes: , but to do it, you need 2000pts.

    If you are really stuck on the Leman Russ and IG, I would drop the Inquisitor and Assassin. Thats 140pts that would let you upgrade some things that need it like adding a HW to the IG Command Squad, and Armoured Fist Squad.

    Make sure you give a HW to any IG squad and preferably a Special Weapon as well. In my Deamonhunter lists, I always have Lascannon/Plasma Gun, or Missle Launcher/Plasma Gun.

    If you take an Inquisitor, at least make him usefull. I just add a Psycannon and add him to a PAGK squad that already has two Psycannon's in it. It makes a great firebase.

    I suppose you could lose one of the Dreads, instead of dropping the =][= and Callidus?!

    Always add smoke to AC Dreads, and I usually add Extra Armour as well.

    It is better to make lists with properly set set up units, than to take more useless ones.

    Ok, I know im trying to too much. Ive taken out a Dread, the =][= (<--thats kool ) and the Assassain, I also replaced my Grandmasters Psycannon with a Stormbolter and gave him the Hamerhand psychic power.

    O.K. you are getting close!:yes:

    Drop the Incinerator on the PAGK, not very good at all for walking Grey Knights, and you will save 15 points and get another Stormbolter.:rolleyes:

    Your list is 1378 points, you had the 140 on the Chimera which shouldn't be there as it is inlcuded in the Armoured Fist Points. With 122 points I would Change this Missle Launchers with Lascannons, and add a Lascannon to the Command Squad. Then I would add two more Grey Knights and put the Psycannon back on the Grand Master.

    Then it would be a good list!:w00t:
