Here's my plan for my first Guard army, incorporating Daemonhunter allies until I have Ratlings, tanks, etc. to fill out the rest. Having never played Guard, I don't know if the Doctrines are running away with too many points, so let me know if there are any ploblems.
Doctrines: Sharpshooters, Cameleoline,
Senior Officer: Carapace Armor, Macharian Cross
Command Squad: Medic, Plasma Gun, Lascannon Team, Sharpshooters/Cameleoline
AT Squad: Lascannon, Sharpshooters/Cameleoline
AT Squad: Missile Launchers, Sharpshooters/Cameleoline
Mortar Squad; Cameleoline
Inquisitor Lord: Psycannon, Power Armor
3x Gun-Servitor: Heavy Bolters
Armored Fist Squad: Plasma gun, Lascannon, Cameleoline/Sharpshooters
Chimera: Multilaser, Hull Heavy Bolter, Extra Armor, Smoke Launchers, Improved Comms
Command Squad: Plasma gun, Lascannon, Sharpshooters/Cameleoline
Squad 1: Grenade Launcher, Missile Launcher, Sharpshooters/Cameleoline
Squad 2: Grenade Launcher, Missile Launcher, Sharpshooters/Cameleoline
Grey Knight Teleport Attack Squad: Justicar & 6x Grey Knights
Total: 1501 points
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
It is quite a good list.:shifty:
I would drop the mortar squad though, not very effective IMO.
Take two Lascannon squads instead the Missle Launcher squad. Only 15pt difference and way better.
For your Deamonhunter HQ, drop one HB and take one Plasma Cannon, add two Mystics. It gives you way better firepower and you can shoot first against deep-striking Termies. It also give the squad more meat!
I would drop EA on your Chimera.
Take the Lacannon out of your command squad and exchange for a Missle Launcher from one of your troops squad. Otherwise your leadership will be targeted. I would also prefer Plasma to GLs, but I love Plasma.
Your FAGK squad needs to be bigger to take casualties after it drops in. I only take FAGK squads of 10 Generally.

I like it. But, I do recomend trying to get one russ in there soon - those kill anything marine equivallent verry well!
I am probably going to run a list similar to that, but I'm going to try to use just a reglar inquisitor, not an inquisitor lord - I have to read the rules again though.

Pssst.... give me kudos....
I liked the idea of messing with my opponent's deployment a lot, so I included the Macharian Cross (re-deploy one of my units), the Callidus Assassin (re-deploy one of my opponent's units), and a Mortar squad, which forces Pinning tests and will likely cause my opponent to spread out his units. If they spread out, then they can't make use of holes in my LOS as effectively, and models in the back of the squad are less likely to be in range for shooting or close combat. Still, against MEQs, I'll probably end up dropping the mortar team to max out my Grey Knights, as per Diggums' suggestion.
