I woudn't get this guy, he only has one wound and you're paying extra for it, plus you can't use the Holy Relic if you moved which cuts down its usefullness considerably. If you really want the thunder hammer/storm shield combo, get another termie for the GM's retinue and put it onto him free of charge.GKT- 1 TH/SS, Brother Captain- Icon of the Just, Mastercrafted weapon (on nemesis), Holy RelicWhen you're doing entries like this, please say how many guys are in a squad and the total unit cost (please don't include individual wargear costs) it makes things much easier for us. The weapons and teleport homer are fine, but I think that meltabombs are a waste because you can't assault out of a transport (except a Land Raider) and to use it would leave that squad out in the open for a turn and would probably get wiped out. Also, Rhinos tend to be better transports if you are going to use them for more than cover fire, because their higher side armor (a side which keeps being right in front of the enemy if you use this squad as it should be used) keeps it safe from almost all small-arms fire.IST- 2 meltaguns, vet- teleport homer and melta bombs (goes in chimera)You can only take 2 special weapons in a squad. The storm bolter tends to not do very well if it's used by only one person, especially for the amount you are paying to get it seperately. I'd drop it, his standard hellgun is a much better value.3xIST- 2 nade launcehr and 1 plasma gun, vet-SBAgain, please include the number of guys in a squad. In general though, FAGK shouldn't be fielded in squads of less than 8 because they still have to be able to DS, take a round of fire, and still be ably to win in cc. It also isn't a good idea to include more than one specal weapon because you're paying to lose the strength bonus and the true grit attack.2x FAGK- Nem/SBsIf at all possible, try to get some more long range anti-armor, 2 dreads usually don't cut it in a 2,000 pt. game.2x GK dreadnaughts- ML, TLLC
1500 years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the Universe
500 years ago everybody knew the world was flat
5 minutes ago you knew humans were alone on the planet
Imagine what you'll know tomorrow
Check out a few other army lists in this thread. Note the layout and style and use it to rewrite your own list so we know whats going on. We need to know troop #'s and points and such, although from your points total I expect that all the squads are maxed size (they don't need to be you know).
Like Phoenix said, drop the brother captain.
Get some extra armor and smoke launchers on ALL your armor.
Read you codex and pay attention to rules and limts on weapons for squads. Your IST are illegal.
The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.
~ Make one of your dreads assault cannon/combat wep, this way you can min.-max their capabilities (one goes up, one hangs back). Give both extra armour, so they can always be on the move.
~ Drop that BC completely, give the GM a power weapon for +1 attack.
~ You wrote 3x ISTs which I don't understand!? The min. squad is 5x, and you can't have two Grenade Launchers AND a Plasma Gun. Make all those ISTs one squad of 8x (5+3 you have?) and give them two meltaguns, for tank busting.
~ Please just re-write the list below (in this thread!) so it's easier to read, i.e. by writing the number of models in each squad, and how many squads there are of that type.
5th E Sand(Grey) Knights: 11-3 (retired) 5th E Eldar: 37-4 (retired) 5th E Wolves 5-0
haha most of the errors stated were typos due to lazy typing. I will edit all of the stuff once I get home and have the list sitting in front of me. Sorry about the way I wrote out the info, that was kind of stupid on my part....
here is my updated list, the original one is really screwy and messed up.

Over 700pts in a 2000pt list in one 6-model unit? Not a good idea. I'd drop the power weapon and the mastercrafting, and maybe a GKT. Numbers will prevail more than pumped-up models in most situations, and GK HQ units eat up points like whoa.GM- Master crafted weapon, Icon of teh Just, Power weapon 455
(5)GKT retinue- 1 TH/SS 255Why is the Vet in there? Unlike IG stuff, the Vet doesn't have increased stats in IST squads - just access to the armoury. And unless you have some weapon or item that you wanted to buy them (and really, pumping up IST vets isn't the best tactic) then I'd suggest dropping them for just a regular IST trooper. Also, I suggest not mixing special weapons in IST squads - each weapon serves different roles, and they'll be more effective if they have one specific job. Plasma for heavy infantry, melta for armor, and grenade launchers for light infantry.3x (10)IST- 1GL 1PG w/ veterans
If you make the changes I suggest, some or all, and maybe drop one of the footslogging IST squads, you could bring in another 8+ unit of FAGK.
Actually, it looks like that's the sum total of the entire HQ. Impossible to pimp out a GM to cost 455 pts!Originally Posted by mEGALOMANIAC
Still, Chaoticwarrior, I think your total is off by about 25 pts. Is there a psycannon in the retinue somewhere?
You won't be able to trim as many points as mEGALO was expecting, but take his advice to heart. Most especially, drop the vet sgts that aren't carrying important wargear.
Also, were it me, I would drop one entire squad of plasma-toting ISTs in favor of the 4 GKs needed to fill out the FAGK squads. You'd still have 30 ISTs, 6 GKTs, and 20 FAGKs. Not too shabby! If you're lucky, with all the points you save from the various tweaks, you could scrape together enough points for a Chimera, which you could use to help set up a firebase with one IST squad or just to drive empty and cause trouble. Even luckier would be to have enough to get another dreadnought.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
