What do you think of an Imperial guard army of 1500pts? What are your suggestion for a 1500 point army with heavy hitting power so it can take on anything.
My 1500 army
all have carapace armour
heroic senir officer
refactor feild, master crafted weapon, melta bombs, crimson medallion
standand guy 42
Horn(counts as regimental standand), 4+ invulnerable save (can be given to the officer as well if he's in 2"), frags
chief medic 18pts
stops 2 failed armour saves, close combat weapon,frags, laspistol
bone 'ead,Crimson medal
393=3 squads, carapace armour doc ,vet,frags (whole squad),flamer,missle launcher/autocannon,
melta gun, sharpshooters doc,
1 conquerur 190pts =PMHS, lascannon, side sponser HB,Track Guards
heavy weapons platoon
2 heavy bolter squad
1 las cannon squad

But i see your point. I have a different idea for the army and will post later.
You have tons of points spent on upgrades you will never need, for example carapace armor(really expensive), refractor field and master craft weapons. I would drop all those. If you want carapace armor get storm troopers. Also dont make stuff up, if you do at least use the customization table in the rule book so you could pay properly for wut you get not just convert some banner into a godly relic. Also if you convert you need the permision of opponent to use the conversion.
one more doctorine, I sugest close order drill
more infantry squads
5 ogryns with Bone ead not 6, give em chimera
stormtroopers or veterans is your choice, I like troopers, everyone else likes vets.(I like to be unique)
at least one basic Leman russ, I sugest two with heavy bolters and extra armor
