    1500 tourney list with traits!

Hey guys, could you have a gander at this list for an upcoming tourney. I am quite happy with most of it, but am not sure of a role for the plasmagun/cannon squad other than anti-deepstriker. I have bikes, troops, a dread and a vindicator in reserve.
The idea is that the Veterans deploy with their lascannon after the enemy heavy support :ninja: . Scouts will threaten heavy weapons teams or slow up the advance. Squads Firestorm and Incursus walk towars the objectives, with support form the assault squad. The other squads are fire support. The Landspeeder I will try to keep alive for as long as possible for desperately extracting squads out of a hole or objective grabbing.
    Thanks for the feedback!

i dont think tactical squads can take two assault type weapons (plamsa guns, melta, flamer)
unless i've just gone insane- and havent read the rule corectly for about the 50th time...

edit: reread clense and purify! :ninja: i was just playing with your head .... honestly... i wass

Good list. just a couple tweaks required:

    Squad Firestorm:

As a squad that will be advancing, you dont want to go with a heavy weapon. You also shouldnt combine rapid fire weapons with powerfists (special weapons I mean, nothing you can really do about the bolters). So my advice make this squad either the same as squad incursus or drop the vet sarg, change the HB for a second plasma gun, and add 2 more marines for more staying and shooting power.

Your scout squad is completely out of place. If your using it as a distraction or speedbumb, the fist isnt necessary. With a 4+ save its too easy to mow through the few ammount of scouts your fielding. the fist makes them a threat and they will be annihilated quickly. If you want to use them, id go with a full squad of 10. They wont be as easy to get rid of that way and will still be able to tie up heavy weapon teams for quite some bit. If you had more support for them, id say keep the fist but as your list is now, you focus on staying in your DP zone so the infiltrators wont get the support they need.

The assault squad could use the extra 2 marines.

The purpose of your dual plasma squad is fire support/anti deepstrike just as you surmised. They should be placed in the center of your lines so they can effectively counter and deepstrikers that come at you. Aside from that, they fire at those units advancing on your lines.

In any case, the main prolem with your list is that you have a forward deployed infiltrator combined with slow moving advancers (tacticals) and static long range firepower. You need to consolidate these ideas into something that will work well together. Personally id just drop the inltrators and fight the battle on your side of the battlefield. Make your oponent come to you through a withering ammount of fire only to be met by your assault squad and chaplain for quick deliverance to whatever xeno god they follow.

    Cheers Mate!

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC

    Thanks for the reply Chaosbrynn.

My idea with the scouts has worked in the past, though previously they have had a powersword instead of the fist. I find they work as a distraction best when they have something that worries the opponent. I generally hide them behind or in 6" of terrain, so if they come for me either they are closer to the advancing tacticals/in line of fire, or coming through the terrain, usually allowing me to get the charge.

I agree with you on squad firestorm. I think I am trying to multi-role them too much.

10 assault marines would be great, I would have to buy more first though!

    Thanks mate.
