    [1400] Un-Freindly Tourney, Traits

    Please rate this armylist my freind is entering in a local Tourney. There are 16 competitors and its not going by standerd tourney score catagories just battleing and advancing to the next level. Its a $20 entry fee with a winner take all prize of $250 so its pritty important.
    The list is due to submit on Friday 14th at 7pm.

    The winner of pervious tourneys and my freind's arch-enemy may enter as well. Only the Strong of Heart and Mind should look apon this meance lest they run in fear of his prowess: Shawn the "Fancy Pants" Constantine

    Strang point cost for a tourney.

    Chapter Traits:

    Well if you want to win 250 dollars, your gonna need better traits.

    T. Captain & T. Sgt. & 3 T. Command Squad = 325pts
    - Captain w/ Power Weapon, Stormbolter and T. Armor
    - T. Sgt. w/ Powerfist and Stormbolter
    - Assault Cannon and Cyclone Missile Launcher
    Id recommend a librarain instead, 130
    Librarain, 2 wounds, Terminator armor, fear of the darkness

    Terminator command squad, 4 termintors, 2x assault cannons, give the sgt no wargear.
    Drop pod.

    Fear of the darkness is excellent against shooty armies, like IG, Tau, and Eldar. When you drop pod, try to land in the center of the enemies force, then pop off the power, and watch a bunch of squads fall back. (usually you should shoot the enemy first to make sure you stay in range, pop the power last, but if your sure the enemy will stay in range, pop the powerfist, that way you know which squads to shoot at)
    Elite:

    Dreadnought = 105pts
    - Assault Cannon, DCCW and Stormbolter
    Remove this.

    Ven. Dreadnought = 165pts
    - TL Lascannon and Missile Launcher
    - Tank Hunters
    Add Extra Armor.


    9 Marines & Vet. Sgt. = 210pts
    - Vet. Sgt. w/ Powerfist and Boltpistol
    - True Grit and Counter-Attack

    9 Marines & Vet. Sgt. = 210pts

    Now instead of tactical squad marines, make these guys veterans, use infiltrate and give the bolt pistols and CCWs.

    Add 1 melta gun to each squad.
    The tourney does use infiltrate right?
    Remove counter attack.

    5 Marines & Sgt. = 110pts
    - 5 Bolters and Plasma Cannon

    5 Marines & Sgt. = 110pts
    - 5 Bolters and Plasma Cannon
    Trade the plasma cannons to lascannons, add plasma guns.


    5 Scouts & Sgt. = 165pts
    - 5 Sniper Rifles and Missile Launcher
    Remove these, they arent worth the points.

    Add in two landspeeder tornados.
    AC + HB

    Your dreadnought is good at takeing down tanks, but a squad of devastors, 8 man, 4 MLs wound probably do a little better, and be harder to kill. You could affored it if you removed two marines from your tactical squads.

    Good Luck at your tourney.

    If you really want to powergame, your probably gonna need to not use terminators.

    Okay you may not have ever used true grit before but i'll let you in on a few things.
    Firstly, it comes with, for no extra points (How you'd get rid of it I'll never know), Counter Attack. Secondly, it also works with Power Fists. TTYB is a shooty upgrade, and its based on using bolters. Give your vets some gashdawrn bolters! Next, get at least 1 more power fist, and throw your two 5-mans into one big 10man squad, give the sarge a PF and bolter, and while your at it, either drop the 1 plasma cannon to pay for two Rocket launchers, and throw those in each of your 9mans. Now you have 3 huge squads who infiltrate, can unload massive amounts of bolter fire from the start, maximise the awesomeness of a PF and has more average attacks than anything other than something that is paying out the nose for it!

    I don't see extra armor on either of your dreadnoughts. that seems absolutely rediculous... what the difference between stunned and shaken for a Dred is gonna be life or death for you at least once every 2 games: You can charge while shaken. Buy it.


    ...And i Disagree with Forged. If your gonna use a Dred at all, you might as well use 2! hehehehe
