    Which 1500pt list?

At 1500 pts, I've been using a GM. And while I like him lots, I've never been happy with how few models I have available as a result. I'd like to try dropping him for a BC and see where that gets me. I've got two variants of a list I'd like to try. They're very similar, yet I can't seem to decide which one to use. Why use one over the other? Or, perhaps, both are troubled, and more thought is needed.

    ----------
    (1) 1500 pts, 38 models, 1 tank, 2 walkers
    HQ [316 pts]: Brother-Captain
    + 5 Terminator retinue, 1x psycannon

Elite [52 pts]: Inquisitor, psycannon, auspex (joins with IST squad)
    Elite [120 pts]: Callidus Assassin

Troop [213 pts]: 10 ISTs, 2x plasma guns
+ Chimera, turret ML, hull HB, extra armor, smoke
    Troop [277 pts]: 9 GKs + Justicar w/auspex

Fast Atk [259 pts]: 10 Seraphim, 2x hand flamers, vet superior (power weapon, purity seals)

Heavy [118 pts]: Dreadnought, AC/DCCW, extra armor, smoke
Heavy [145 pts]: Dreadnought, TLLC/ML, extra armor

    ----------
    (2) 1499 pts, 41 models, 1 tank, 2 walkers
    HQ [245 pts]: Brother-Captain
    + 4 Terminator retinue

Elite [173 pts]: Inquisitor, psycannon, auspex
+ 2x Gun Servitor, heavy bolter
+ 1x Gun Servitor, plasma cannon
    + 2x sage
    + 1x mystic
    Elite [120 pts]: Callidus Assassin

Troop [213 pts]: 10 ISTs, 2x plasma guns
+ Chimera, turret ML, hull HB, extra armor, smoke
    Troop [275 pts]: 9 GKs + Justicar

Fast Atk [210 pts]: 8 Seraphim, 2x hand flamers, vet superior (power weapon)

Heavy [118 pts]: Dreadnought, AC/DCCW, extra armor, smoke
Heavy [145 pts]: Dreadnought, TLLC/ML, extra armor

ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

The problem with both lists as I see it is that they have a missmatch of units and speed. In both lists, your GK's are gonna get left behind in the dust as all the other units zoom off to battle. By the time those guys get to the fight its gonna be over. Somehow this list doesnt feel like it works together and meshes well. Perhaps its because you dont have two of any troop type so that it feels like your army lacks a core idea that the other units support. I just dont know.
The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.

    What would you recommend changing?

I like the second list as the =][= squad with Plasma Cannon and two HBs is very effective IMO, (I would add one more Mystic for meat though). I would however prefer to have the =][= Lord unit, instead of the Elite choice for the only reason of nover failing a moral check. LD8 IMO isn't good enough, and the Lord has Iron Will which makes him worth the points.

Other than that, I like your list!

    Cheers, DH

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Diggums. I hadn't thought about the leadership differences between I-lord and the elite Inq. I think I can afford to drop a GK and do exactly what you recommend.

    1 vote against both -- 1 vote for (2)

Any other input? Especially if you think the lists are no good.
