    The idea is obviously to deepstrike EVERYTHING!!!!!

    My question is whether I need to drop the Assault Termies for more Tactical marines, or mabe a Dreadnaught?
    The one obvious thing is that I lack anti-tank weapons...

    Please feel free to rip this list to shreds, on condition that its useful advice :-D

    Drop those assault terminators in favor of a second squad of normal termies and youd have one fantastic list.

    Id also like to point out that as assualt terminators arent a command squad option, they and your chaplain, will not only roll seperate reserve rolls, but will scatter independantly.
    Mentor of Space Marine Commanders far and wide.

    Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC

    turn those assault terminators into double assault cannon terminator squads and go to drop pods instead of teleport homers. the cover they provide is very much worth your time. also (but this is more nit-picky) you should fill out the tac squads to 10 models. finally, you should probably play a librarian with fear of the darkness isntead of the chappy.

    Hmmm... here's an revised list, taking all the comments into account:-

    HQ

    Epistolary
    + Veil of Time (10 pts)
    + Fear of Darkness (15 pts)
    + Storm Bolter
    + Terminator Armour
    + Familiar
    180 pts

    Terminator Command Squad (4 Termies TOTAL)
    + Sergeant
    ++ Power Axe and Storm bolter
    + 3 terminators
    ++ 2 Assault Cannons
    + Drop pod
    230 pts

    ELITES

    Terminator Squad Omega (5 Termies TOTAL)
    + Sergeant
    ++ Power Axe and Storm bolter
    + 4 terminators
    ++ 2 Assault Cannons
    240 pts

    TROOPS

    Tactical Squad Alpha (10 marines TOTAL)
    + 8 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Meltagun
    + 1 Honour gaurd marine
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    235 pts

    Tactical Squad Beta (10 marines TOTAL)
    + 8 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Meltagun
    + 1 Honour gaurd marine
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    235 pts

    Tctical Squad Theta (10 marines TOTAL)
    + 9 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Meltagun
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    220 pts

    FAST

    Landspeeder Tornado squadron 1
    + 1 Landspeeder Tornado
    ++ Assault Cannon and Heavy Bolter
    80 pts

    Landspeeder Tornado squadron 2
    + 1 Landspeeder Tornado
    ++ Assault Cannon and Heavy Bolter
    80 pts

    Total: 1500 pts
    Models (excluding drop pods): 40

    Firstly: I asume I can Take the Psychic power by first taking veil of time at the 1st point cost (10 pts), then the Fear of Darkness as an epistolary power (15 points)?

    Secondly: Should I drop the two Honour Gaurds in the first two Tac squads? It would free up 30 points which I could use for another drop pod for the Elite Terminator squad?

    Thanx again for all the comments

    + Familiar

    Simply use fear of the darkness, far more powerful, anything you get into assault with, youll kill with powerfists anyway.

    Remove the familar, and down grade him to a 2 wound librarian.

    You could even remove the storm bolter and truely min max, but you run into the risk of facing an all fearless army.

    Terminator Command Squad (4 Termies TOTAL)
    + Sergeant
    ++ Power Axe and Storm bolter
    + 3 terminators
    ++ 2 Assault Cannons
    + Drop pod
    230 pts
    Perfect.

    Terminator Squad Omega (5 Termies TOTAL)
    + Sergeant
    ++ Power Axe and Storm bolter
    + 4 terminators
    ++ 2 Assault Cannons
    240 pts
    They would do a lot better with a pod. With a pod you can deny a lot of LOS, and you can spread out, so a plasma cannon cant kill the magority of your squad with one shot.

    Im not much of a fan of terminators, however, assault cannons are hard to say no to.

    Tactical Squad Alpha (10 marines TOTAL)
    + 8 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Meltagun
    + 1 Honour gaurd marine
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    235 pts

    Tactical Squad Beta (10 marines TOTAL)
    + 8 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Meltagun
    + 1 Honour gaurd marine
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    235 pts
    Remove the honour guards, they are +30 points, not 30 total. I think you have priced them at 30 total.

    Anyway, these squads costs 250 like they are.

    Make them like the squad below.

    The honour guard marines are way two expensive for their effect.

    Tctical Squad Theta (10 marines TOTAL)
    + 9 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Meltagun
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    220 pts
    This is excellent, the squad uses dynamic deployment, has first strike with double tapped bolters, and a melta gun to pop anything nasty.

    They are about as good in CC as they are shooting, giving you great flexability, while wasting almost nothing.

    Landspeeder Tornado squadron 1
    + 1 Landspeeder Tornado
    ++ Assault Cannon and Heavy Bolter
    80 pts

    Landspeeder Tornado squadron 2
    + 1 Landspeeder Tornado
    ++ Assault Cannon and Heavy Bolter
    80 pts
    Another one would really be nice.

    your librarain will probably cost 135 after the changes above. That means youve already got 45 points to send on a tornado, remove 3 marine, and youve done it. (the honour guards point reductions go to the cost of the drop pod for the terminators)

    While 10 man squads are indeed better then 9 man, 9 men will do the trick, and the added tornado will be invuable in keeping your other marines alive.

    The list will probably work well against your average player, and you've got a decent chance against

    Unless the board really has no cover on it, deploy your torandos on the ground. Far more effect, and controlable results can be achieve that way.

    Peace

    cut the honor guards for a drop-pod on the terminator squad. and get rid of the familiar, since you cant take it in terminator armor. cut the stormbolter from the librarain as well and give him a power weapon. the extra attack is worth it with veil of time, and you dont really have anything else to spend those points on. leave him at 3 wound for the leadership 10, since you really dont want to fail the psychic test when you deepstrike. I would consider swapping the melta guns for plasma, since it end up being a stronger weapoon. think about it like this, tunr you come down plasma takes 2 shots vs the meltas 1, if you then charge next turn the melta gets one and things are about the same. if you ge charged the plasma has down more for you. the only difference is killing tanks, and the assault cannons will do that.

    Right,

    I had a friendly game against Necrons yesterday.
    I decided against the Librarian and settled on a Master of Sanctity (it's just cheaper).

    The list I used is as follows:-

    HQ

    Master of Sanctity
    + Storm Bolter
    + Terminator Armour
    130 pts

    Terminator Command Squad (4 Termies TOTAL)
    + Sergeant
    ++ Power sword and Storm bolter
    + 3 terminators
    ++ 2 Assault Cannons
    + Drop pod
    230 pts

    ELITES

    Terminator Squad Omega (5 Termies TOTAL)
    + Sergeant
    ++ Power Axe and Storm bolter
    + 4 terminators
    ++ 2 Assault Cannons
    +++Drop Pod
    270 pts

    TROOPS

    Tactical Squad Alpha (9 marines TOTAL)
    + 8 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Plasmagun
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    205 pts

    Tactical Squad Beta (9 marines TOTAL)
    + 8 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Plasmagun
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    205 pts

    Tactical Squad Theta (10 marines TOTAL)
    + 9 Marines
    ++ bolters
    ++ 1 with a Meltagun
    + Veteran Sergeant
    ++ Power fist
    ++ Bolt pistol
    +++Drop Pod
    220 pts

    FAST

    Landspeeder Tornado squadron 1
    + 1 Landspeeder Tornado
    ++ Assault Cannon and Heavy Bolter
    80 pts

    Landspeeder Tornado squadron 2
    + 1 Landspeeder Tornado
    ++ Assault Cannon and Heavy Bolter
    80 pts

    Landspeeder Tornado squadron 3
    + 1 Landspeeder Tornado
    ++ Assault Cannon and Heavy Bolter
    80 pts

    Total: 1500 pts
    Models (excluding drop pods): 41

    I massacred my opponent, but it was still a VERY fun and competative game.
    Thanx for all the help everyone! Keep up the good work!

    He was right Forged. The Honor Guard marines are 30 pts total. They come with a bolter, an Axe of Ultramar ( a power weapon), they get 2 attacks in CC (3 on the charge) and both kinds of grenades ALL for just 30 points.

    I think if they were 45 points each like you originally thought, you would be right, but for the extra power weapon attacks, they are more useful than two marines with just bolters or bolt pistol and ccw, because of their power weapons. Plus they still get the rapid fire from their bolters.

    I LOVE to use my Honor Guard and I get lots of dismayed remarks when they find out how many power weapons I bring to the field.

    The text on honor guard points is pretty clear. It says "replace a marine" for +30 points. This would mean there has to be one to replace, so you have allready bought it.
