Well not really... let me explain what I had in mind. Me and my friend think that WH have some pretty cool models. I like the inquisitor part and he likes the sob part, so we thought why not collent WH together... well at least at the start. We both have to have cool models as top priority, then army fluff and last effectiveness (well having that said we've pretty much no hope on winning right?) ...
Anyway my fluff are about this overly fanatic inquisitor lord Vincent Valente the 5th aka VVV, who is more evil than good because he is so fanatical that he sees evil in everything and everyone and he have to "purify" them by making them suffer in some way (use your wildest imagination and just go wild!). Well anyway he has be doing nicely with his holy quest against "evil" until recently when he become a litte bit overconfident and a little too careless. So he keep losing battles and after a few there isn't much of his army remaining. Vincent now realizes that he can't go on like that and he have damaged his honor and reputation pretty badly. When he stoped some soldiers of what was left of his army left, but those who had served him the longest stayed (they've afterall sworn several oaths both to the emeror and Vincent). Vincent and his followers want revange for the losses they've been taken, so he's currently travelling across the galaxy to recurit more henchmen and troops to somehow finnish the mission he had begun and to regain his position and honor as an true Inquisitor Lord of Ordo Hereticus.
So in his travels he meets the remains of a sister of battle army who had suffered pretty much the same fate as he had, so he offered them to join him. The sisters joined Vincent, afterall they fought for the same goal... to "purify" the galaxy from all evil.
After he had hired some decent men and with the help of the sisters. Vincent was on his first mission of "purification" after his fall... to kill the men that left him during his fall as they now is considered traitors and should be slain by the name of the emperor.
ok that was about the fluff... here's my part of the list. We decided on 1000pts so that each onw of us could use 500pts and we're sharing one force organisation chart.
Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor Lord:
Vincent Valente the 5th (inquisitor lord) + Rosarius + Plasma Pistol = 85pts
Acotype + Bolter X3 = 30pts
Veteran Guardsmen + Plasmagun X3 = 60pts
Sage X2 = 20pts
Death-Cult Assassins X2 = 80pts
Inquisitorial Storm Troopers
Storm Trooper X10 + Plasmagun = 110
Storm Trooper X10 + Plasmagun = 110
Total Army pts: 495
The idea is that we'll build our armies by ourselves so his part isn't necessary matching mine. he knows that I'll be having an inquisitor hq and some troopers and that's all and I know that he's in love with the penitent engines model so he'll be having at least on of them. We devided the force organisation chart a little too, Both got 1 HQ and 3 Troop choices, he get 1 elite, 2 fast attack (I wanted a slot for other stuff later... maybe IG of SM allies) and 2 HS choices.
So what do you think?... good? bad? awfull?
well theres not many options for an inquisitor force at 500 points, your HQ doesnt look bad but id change a few things.
the plasma guns sound good on paper, but with there horrible saves it wont be hard for you to just kill yourself. the sage only allows 1 reroll in the shooting phase for the entire squad.
id change them to -
gun servitors + heavy bolter x 3 = 75
now you have 9 bolter shots instead of 3 plasma and no need for your second sage.
also, the rosarius on your hq is just way too many points for what it does, especially in such a low point game.
you could drop it and add 2 chirurgeons for 1 point less. that way you get to completely ignore 1 wound each turn, without having to roll 4+, regardless of wether or not it ignores saves or would cause insta death.
it only works once a turn though, but in a 500 point match i cant see you facing THAT many successful attacks that would ignore your saves.
i dunno thats up to you.
same thing goes with the plasma pistol on the inquisitor. you really wanna chance sacrificing your lord for a plasma pistol? he has more then 1 wound so its not that big a deal, but still.
id also give him a brazier. that way he gets an extra cc attack, plus he can use it as a flamer if he needs too.
as far as elites go, eversor is only 15 points more and WAY better imo then death cult. thats debateable though.
on your troops id swap plasma for melta. same cost, higher str, ap1, extra d6 pen at close range and they are assault weapons. much better against tanks and no chance of killing yourself
but then again its not like youll be facing tanks at 500 points ;\
but theres not really much else you can do besides bringing in allies with an inquisitor only force.
maybe drop the assassin alltogether and bring a rhino or chimera.
just some ideas

if pro is the opposite of con, does that mean progress is the opposite of congress?
thanks for the advice... we're acually playing 1000pts battles... it's just that I'm doing 50% of the army and my friend the other half .
But anyway I know what you're thinking... but it isn't that ofthen you roll 1s right?... I normaly play tyranids and I can't say I miss my ld test very often... and that is more combinations than just 1s. So hopefully I don't roll so horribly. And I have two sages to allow one reroll each turn right? I don't really like that heavy bolters are "heavy" that cripples my movement a bit. So I think I'm gonna let my veterans be. for my inquisitor though I've considered giving mig either scourgung or a storm bolter. Changing the rosarius to chirurgeons is an good idea.
I think the death cult models are soooo much more sexier that the eversor so I'm sticking to the deathcults... they can't be that bad ;P
I think I'm gonna stick with plasmas on my troopers too... I'm almost positive that my friend will have all the heavy stuff like retributos with meltas in a immolator... or an exorcist so I need to focus on more troop killing. The plasmas in my armies are to knock down models with good armour like SM...
If "Coolness" is the objective, and you really don't care about winning, then why hold back?
Join the "freak show" and get some Suiscidal Bikinis (Repentia) and Mutants (Arcos).
While an Inquisiitor can't "join" those squads, they can certainly be considered to be under his command in order to accomodate your fluff story.
As to the ISTs, the only good value that an IST gives you is his BS4. So, they should always fill out both of their special weapons, even if you have to drop one or two ISTs to do it.
Your real decision between you and your partner is who has to fill out the force org requirements, and who has to take the Priest (a prerequisite for Arcos). Maybe you should each be responsible for 1 troop squad each, allowing you both a litte more flexibility in your other choices.
And if you do take Repentia, it's very advantageous to take a priest with them.
In fact, that's probably the best thing he can do is join Repentia.
