    1500pts cadian 122nd for Medusa V

    Well, with the campaign drawing ever closer, i was hoping to get my guard army fully operational and ready for the campaign.

    So here is my proposed list for medusa V.

    Also, take note that this is list is more about theme than taking what is 100% the best option.

    Here goes:

    Doctrines:
    Iron Discipline
    Special Weapons Squads
    Veterans (well after fighting in the EoT and Vogen, there would naturally be a higher ratio of veterans)
    storm troopers

    Command Platoon with:
    HSO with:
    carapace armour, iron discipline, power weapon
    Staff with:
    standard bearer, master vox, mortar

    So what do you guys think of the list? A goer or does it need some changes?

    Also, i am yet to playtest this list so what do you guys think this army would be best suited to and against what opponents will i excell.

    I was thinking it is more of a cityfight army, with there not being much armour in the list and with the inclusion of units like the veterans and the special weapon squads, the abundance of cover is to there advantage. howver, i could be on the completely wrong track so thats where you guys come in ^_^ .

    Not good, you need to hide this squad out of LOS so it doesn't get shot at. Which makes the Rocket Launcher redundant. Drop it. You can also get the HSO for 5 points less by taking a JO with an honourifica.

    Snipers are only effective in large squads which means the ratlings are the only viable choice. Drop these fellas or change their weapons.

    Not enough meat in the squad to keep them safe. You should put a weapon in here that attracts less attention such as a Heavy Bolter. For the same reason the Plasmagun needs to go

    Meltaguns are only truly effective in mobile squads. This one isn't so exchange it for a plasmagun

    Much better. However don't mix 'n' match weapons. Go for three plasma for an infiltrating squad or go for three melta and turn it into a suicide deepstrike squad.

    I like the modified list, very fluffy but with some power to it too, not sure about the carapace armour on the officer, but otherwise fine.
    Not sure aboutt he flamer/SW sqaud, unless you are gonna play cityfight as otherwise this squad will get shot to bits before it gets anywhere

    You considered shotguns on the vets? I know they are pooh-poohed, but I have gone down this route for my elysians, it makes them more effective when close up and hold a lot of promise for cityfight, it doesnt really work if you are planning to stand back and provide plasma fire support, but if you get close and personnal it is pretty useful

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Well the plan was to use this list for more city fight battles, so that means that units like the veterans, mortars, basilisks and SW squads are all the more effective.

    You also are probably right about the veterans lasguns. Ill swap them in for some shotguns. Plus shotguns look cooler ^_^ .
