This is the World Eaters list that I intend to take to the Baltimore GT... any ideas or concepts would help.
HQ= 167 pts
Master of Sanctity
Elites= 615 pts
3x 7 Man Assault Squads
Plasma Pistol(1 per Squad)
Sergeant- Power Weapon(1 per Squad)
Troops = 130 pts
2x 5 man scout squads
Fast Attack= 246 pts
8 man Assault Squad
Sergeant- Power Weapon
Heavy Support= 341 pts
2x Vindicator w/ Smoke Launchers
Total= 1499 pts.

Use the LSTs in two single vehicle squads. You give up 3 models and a power weapon and gain 4 heavy weapons on flexible platforms which can be used to achieve scenario objectives.

hey thx for the reply... I originally had the 2 LST's in my list, but then I realized I was getting completely outnumbered by even forces like eldar and others... with the extra 8 man assault squad it gives me close to the same mobility, even more tank destruction potential, and it is a squad that I can take into the fray... LST's have a nasty tendency to die to things like bolters and surieken catapults.
If they survived more then yes I would say definately and have them bouncing around their 12" every turn shooting things up, but they just don't seem to last when I use them so it seems like a waste of points in this situation.
If you have read some of my other post you will know that I've been playing for 14 years now... not trying to boast or smack anyone down, just have alot of experience in waisted points to know when to cut and run... I've also perfected the bum rush tactic... if you could ask any of my friends or the people I game with They will tell you. when I start a new army the first thing I ask myself is how can I turn it into an assault based force. I've designed close combat lists for necrons, tau, DE, Eldar, orks, nids, chaos(khorne, nurgle, TS, and a Emp Child army for a friend), Imp Guard, and sisters. This is my first time doing a close combat SM force, but not my first time HAVING a SM force. I've been around the block so many times I've created a new block.
Thanks again for your input, I'll post here what the results were from the GT. and after that I'll post my old list so everyone can pick the hell out of it.
If your going to be early heresy world eaters, or something, i suggest you make all your squads 8 man, you might even consider playing blood angles, your list would be way better.
The vindicators will fail you horendously, i suggest something else.
Probably Bikes/landspeeders to get anti tank/anti hord
And honestly, if you dont use a LST you might as well play choas :x
I use two vindicators and they certainly draw fire! I use them as a mutually supporting pair with the LST to nurse them into good firing positions. With each LST as a single unit your opponent has four units to engage. So must commit at least four units to deal with them. The extra tac squad is used as force protection for the whirlwind, to give it some protection against deep strikers.
