    okay i would drop the artificer armour and the flamers and get them melta guns but other than that it's prety good

    Youve gone for a very tac squad based army, Raven Guard are the fast hitting pros youve got the abillity to take assault quads as elites and you can give them all furious charge for 3 points a model so go for assault squads and landspeeders (you can take both)

    Also remeber youve got Shrike once you get to 1500pts. hes got the mastercrafted randing lightning claws so nones safe... take note though he is soft as hell and needs some gd support from either an Assault squad or his own guys. If you choose his guys then watch out because they are expensive at 51pts a model but with shrike they can get into combat in the first turn (with sum luck)

    This is a 1500 point list iv made for them and iv got a second one on the way. if you give me a few days ill see what i can come up with for 1000pts.

    Notes: A very high speed and hard hitting army, the chaplin in shrikes wing means there are 40 power weapon attacks with re rolls to hit on the charge and re rolls to wound with the lightning claws. The 2 Assault squads can be used seperatly or together and be used as cover so the Hq squad can get into close combat without taking casulties.

    Yeah well I based this list off what I had on me really so pardon the Tac. Squad-ness. I adjusted it from the suggestions and of course I do plan to get Shrike when I have the points to:

    Maybe drop the squad sizes a bit. maybe down to 6 marines (big squads arnt always better)
    The rhino is a bit of a wierd point foe me, they get your men into battle quickly but they can be popped by alot of weapons without to much problem (although smoke launchers will help so nice one there)

    If you can defo swap the plasma pistols on the assault squad for flamers (you cant kill yourself with a flamer)

    Otherwise a nice list for using what youve got.

    When youve got the points get shrike and a few of his guys (not to many though as they are point heavy) they can infiltrate in and then scout (only use the scout if you can get into more cover or behind area terrain) those guys on the charge are nasty 5 men and shrike give you 26 lightning claw attacks. be careful what you hit with them though as shrike only has a 3+ save to protect him.
    NB: remeber shrike can kill ANYTHING!! those lightning claws are rending so everything is fair game. (ok not everything... monolith... is that how you spell it?)

    Just build the army bit by bit and see what works and what doesnt, also make sure youve got things you want in the army ie if you love dreadnoughts take em if you love tac squads take em done get pushed into only takein what other people tell you to its your army after all.

    V nice i like it so far. I love the tac marines in the drop pod nice touch i hadnt thought of, it fits in nicely with the idea of the Raven Gaurd. Assault troops break into the front lines whilst drop troops land behind and haras the enemy from the rear.

    On the assault squads really do considder flamers. I know plasma pistols are great at killing power armour troops but the risk of losing a 28 point model (i think that makes em worth 28 pts each) due to an over heat is a pain. You also can hit whole squads with 2 flamers so instead of killing 1 the opertunitie is there to kill loads of them.

    Speeders rock maybe look to get a few more as the army expands

    This army should rock, its gonna cause huge problems for whoever you play as youve got the drop pod to worry about and the scouts. Maybe look at getting a few more anti tank weapons in the list (power fists for the assault marines maybe and a lascannon with you tac squad) just incase you come up against lots of armour ie a guard army

    A great start v nice army starting to come together there keep it up and gd luck

    get more assault marines, the RG are aassault-marines-from-hell-list so us them.
    furthermore get more tactical squads for a solid firebase
