Ok so heres what i play now due to model restrictions.
fear of the darkness and Strom of the Empereor's Wrath and bp
command squad with bp and ccw and melta gun and power fist
Five Daemon hunter termies
Two power fits
rest have bp and ccw
ten man squad
bp's and ccw's
and sgt with powerfist
Five man squad with four bolters and a plasma cannon
two plasma pistols
power weapon sgt (pre modeled)
two plasma pistols
power fist sgt
Devy squad with three missle launchers and a lascannon
I know, it makes me sick just reading it over.
Heres what I want to do
I would like to keep current units but realize that they aren't the best so...
I thought about taking two dreads with assualt cannons to compinsate my need for anti-horde
the area that needs help the most.
First fill out the bolter group
then get another bp and ccw squad
tactics drop down and kill fast-
Against horde try and gain objectives and defend them-
I rather not use tanks only units that drop in.
Just one question for now.
Why do the Devastators have a Drop Pod? I mean they can't shoot their missles when they drop and then are VERY vulnerable to your enemies shooting or assault.
Not being indignant, just curious.
My thought was with a drop pod force ALL your models should be in pods. It's basically a all or nothing list, and by leaving the devies out there by themselves would give my enemy a full turn to shoot at them and ONLY them.
I do see your point though and i'll think about dropping this squad and using the points for something else.
Thank you for your posts,
yes that is what a Drop Pod force is, all drop pods. But that doesn't mean that if one squad has one the rest must have one. The majority can be podded.
To supplement the Devies when using a DP force is to take two five man Tac squads with lascannons to support them. This will help to disperse fire.
The only problem that I can see occuring is if no DPs at all arrive second turn.
