Welcome to Librarium Online!
My GM has a psycannon and I want to give him something else. Should I give him the Icon of the Just or Mastercraft his NFW?... or is it worth giving him both?
Edit: I dont think I posted this in the right place.
It's worth a krak!
NFW = Nemesis Force Weapon (our Grey Knight's favourite toy!)
...and the place should propably be "upstairs" in the "Demonhunters" main forum, not in the Army Lists one :-)
I think that the Mastercrafted Weapon is worth the points on the Grandmaster; many of my esteemed colleagues will insist not to tool up the GM too much because that means putting many, many points there (or not using a GM in the first place).
IF you use 'im, however, i'd say give him the Mastercrafted Weapon. If you want to save points, leave the Icon of the Just - spending 25 points to improve a 5+ invulnerable save to a 4+ is somewhat expensive. (i didn't see many situations yet where it would have made a difference, but i know that others won't leave home without the Icon of the Just on their army leader and have good reason to do so from their own experiences)
To me it depends on what army you are facing. Unless it is 'Nids and perhaps Eldar, I usually take a Brother Captain instead.
If I do take a Grandmaster, I load him up with a Psycannon and Icon of the Just. He is an IC so he can be targeted in CC, the 4+ Inv is worth it.
As for Mastercrafting, I would give vs 'Nids, but other than that I wouldn't, unless I had the extra points.

Well, an icon is basially the best means of survival as there is no way the GM can have an adamantite mantle (grrrrrh ) I would go with the icon, but it depends, if you want moe killing power, MC, if you want more survivability, go Icon, the thing is, the icon will protect you at long range too, but he MC is only in CC, and the psy cannon shoots at 36, so getting the MC deletes the usefullness of the psycannon because your either near combat or not.

Ever thought of how cheese was found?:
