5 Storm Troopers- 60
Turret Heavy Flamer + Hull Heavy Flamer
5 Dominions- 91
Transport- Immolator- 73
Extra Armour + Smoke Launchers
Holy Promethium, Extra Armour + Smoke Launchers
I know there is little anti-tank here, but I am allied with BT, who have a multi melta + heavy flamer landspeeder. If we get really desperate then we can always drive round the back.
The stormtroopers should plan to stay in their chimera the whole game, drive by flaming. The Dominions jump out, flame, jump back in, and if anyones transport dies they jump in the spare Immolator! So wadda ya think? (btw I've never tried this list and im relatively new to WH)
None to be exact I don't know - flamers, not even heavy flamers with no faith points to make them into AP1 are not too strong... Drop the troopers and take two Dominion squads if points will permit - at least they get better stats...Originally Posted by cheese58
Do you need Holy Prometium on a flamer tank? Is it that thing that does not allow for cover saves? With flamers, they are not allowed anyway  Or does it force the 25% loss morale test? I am confused
It forces the morale test.
I agree with Smok - drop the IG and double the Dommys, if you absolutely want those multiple flamers.
I have to have 1 troops choice.Originally Posted by SentryKiller
My bad, you're right. Trouble is, I would recommend an SoB squad, with flamer and heavy flamer, in Rhino (can't take Immy), but that runs 186 pts (including Rhino upgrades).
Adding your Dominions w/ Immolator and Promethium, and you are left with 40 pts. Not enough to take the spare Immy. Almost sounds like you would have to go the Chimera route.
When I build a list, I try to envision the possible roles of each squad.
I don't know if you were able to do that with your BT Ally.
I'm not so sure that the flamey Chimera is as good a value as the basic Immolator.
1- The valuable front armor is easier to circumvent when it is in flamer template range.
2- The 6 Shots that a Chimera can fire from 36" (while moving) is a respectable piece of artillery that can make contributions during all six game turns.
3- An Immolator taken as Heavy Support is cheaper
4- It can move 12" and still shoot. The re-roll "to wound" is comperable to two templates.
5- It can score if it just retains mobility.
Therefore, I think the Standard Chimera with Multilaser and Hull HB is a good contribution.
Is anyone going to rescue the Dominions in the event they get charged?
Call me a pessemist, but it only takes two surviving Marines to cut their throats in CC.
I prefer that my "up close and personal" squads to be Celestians. If you find your Dominions often getting charged after the flamey trick, Celestians might do better.
Again, it depends upon the role that you anticipate them filling.
