i am joining a league at my local 40k store. we have to use the same list for 6 battles. can i have some feedback on this list? thanks
black templar army
Marshal: with a pair of lightning claws, bionics, terminator armour, terminators honours, frag grenades
Emperorâ€™s Champion: Suffer not the Unclean to Live
Venerable Dreadnought: flamer, Extra Armour, smoke launchers
7 assault terminators: lightning claws, one thunder hammer, furious charge
6 Marine Squad: Power weapon, plasma gun, heavy bolter, bolters
7 Marine Squad: Power Weapon, melta gun, Close Combat Weapons and Bolt Pistols, drop pod
9 Marine Squad: Power Fist, melta gun, Close Combat Weapons and Bolt Pistols
Rhino: Smoke Launchers, extra armour
Land Raider Crusader: smoke launchers
you cant have a heavy bolter and power weapon in the same sqaud
7 assult termis with FC is 301 points not 280
marshall = 156
for a total of 725 all riding in a tank that can be killed from a 15 lascannon
its not a good idea to have all your eggs in one basket
A commander who puts his faith in heavy weapons alone will be outmanoeuvred. A commander who relies on close combat without support will lose his forces to enemy fire. Each element must work in harmony,so that the effectiveness of the army is greater than the some of its part.
Drop the crusader as its too expensive to use in under 2000pts. Give the dreadnought a drop pod so he can become more usefull and gets into range quicker. Drop the assault terminators because if you join the EC or Marshall to him they lose their furious charge ability. With your left over points get 2 assault squads with power fists and 2 plasma pistols. Give the Marshall a jump pack and holy orb of antioch and drop the terminator armor so he can get into combat faster and join the assault marines.

interesting list but a couple major flaws that I see... one is the land raider... It looks tempting and at 2k pts its worth it sometimes as a shot soaker, but in 1500 its suicide. laz cannons and earthshakers and tau heavy weapons can all take it out fairly easily. And if your opponent is running a strength 9 or 10 ordinence weapon you can kiss anything in it goodbye if he has any reasonable ammount of luck. Not saying it will happen every time, but it has been my experience that the land raider isn't worth it.
Second problem is you can't give a model that has terminator armor terminator honours... I don't know if you just dropped that in there to show the +1 att given by the armour or if you actually added those points in, I don't have my codex on me so I can't add up the points... Besides that I would honestly take out the termys (which again are worth it at 2k but not 1500 unless your really stuck on them, then kick it up to a 8 man unit just for survivability)
That will give you a boat load of points to pump into troops and rhino transports. The Black templars is one of the best lists to do a rhino rush with. just a few options, but that is what I would do... Don't take it as set in stone either. Your dice may like you more. Just play around with different lists and see what works the best.
If I can find my BT codex I'll work out an alternative list for you and PM it to you.
