    2000 points Blood Angels

I'm kind of new to 40k and I was wondering if I could get some advice on my 2000 point Blood Angels army list.

    HQ:
282 - Master of Sancity w/ BP, FG, terminator honours, jump pack, adamantine mantle, death company

    TROOP:
    90 - 5 Marines w/ lascannon
    90 - 5 Marines w/ lascannon
    158 - 10 Scouts w/ veteran sergeant w/ power fist
    158 - 10 Scouts w/ veteran sergeant w/ power fist
    158 - 10 Scouts w/ veteran sergeant w/ power fist
    158 - 10 Scouts w/ veteran sergeant w/ power fist

    FAST ATTACK:
255 - 10 Assault Marines w/ plasma pistol, veteran sergeant w/ power fist
255 - 10 Assault Marines w/ plasma pistol, veteran sergeant w/ power fist

    HEAVY SUPPORT:
    200 - 8 Devastators w/ (4) missile launchers
    200 - 8 Devastators w/ (4) missile launchers

    TOTAL: 2004 points

Advice much appreciated. Will also be listing 1500 points and 1000 points

    HQ:
282 - Master of Sancity w/ BP, FG, terminator honours, jump pack, adamantine mantle, death company
Id remove the mantle, death companies are good enough to generally kill right through 10 marines, so you dont much need to worry about getting nailed with a powerfist, as long as you keep charging youll be fine.

    90 - 5 Marines w/ lascannon
    90 - 5 Marines w/ lascannon
Ok, i like to give these guys veteran sgts, it holds them on the field better, Or if get a death company, they work as cheap extra weapons.

    158 - 10 Scouts w/ veteran sergeant w/ power fist
    158 - 10 Scouts w/ veteran sergeant w/ power fist
    158 - 10 Scouts w/ veteran sergeant w/ power fist
    158 - 10 Scouts w/ veteran sergeant w/ power fist
Your insane, i love it. I might only take 3 though, although 4 is definatly nice, its a tough call.

    FAST ATTACK:
255 - 10 Assault Marines w/ plasma pistol, veteran sergeant w/ power fist
255 - 10 Assault Marines w/ plasma pistol, veteran sergeant w/ power fist
Well, i might go with 2 plasma pistols in one squad, 0 in the other, then during deployment, figure out where the guys with tough armor, are, and set the plasma squad closer to them.
    200 - 8 Devastators w/ (4) missile launchers
    200 - 8 Devastators w/ (4) missile launchers
Well this does help with Death company, however, i think two baal preditors would be better, then add a venerable dreadnought, with twinlinked lascannon, and ML + Tank hunters, that should solve most of your anti tank problems.

Twinlinked ACs are also very good Anti Tank, as well as though 2 lascannons.

    Peace

I'd not take 5 man tac-squads. This is a trap that many BA players get stuck in - to maximize DC you take a lot of small groups of Tac. marines. Instead skip one scout squad and reinforce the squads as much as possible! Give them v. sergeants with PF!

In general - devestators can be really great, however - you should maximize the squads and give them some CC capabilities; BA is a CC army and all squads should be readied for it - the red thirst is not something to ignore!

Skip one Dev-squad and take one Anihilator instead - you seriously lack tanks.

You chaplain is really way to expensive - go for the cheaper one and donät give him that much equippment. He's allready got inv. save - and the DC is a fire-magnet; it will draw quite some fire from your enemy - who doesn't want it to get to his lines. It just really takes a battlecannon hit to take out the whole squad - so use them as a bonus to your original force, don't count on them to deliver in CC!!! (even though they are really great at it).

If you got more questions PM me!

Looks a bit like my own BA army - with the difference that I field two 10 man strong tac-squads, just 2 scouts squads and a veteran squad in a drop pod...

I think that what you have there is a very reliable force - the scouts will tie him up in battle - the baal will kill what get's thrue - then the assaultmarines - dreadnought and tac - squads versus tanks.

Good luck with your army, and remember - don't get it all in one load - assemble and paint a units at a time!

    Cheers!

Well, you wont have a raging death company, but thats alright, realying only on one unit isnt good, (although what a unit!)

-Venerable Dreadnought w/ tank hunter, lascannon, missile launcher (165p)
This guy definatly needs smoke launchers, remove the smokes on a baals, or ditch a plasma pistol.

Honestly though, you wont need to smokes.

    Looks solid, Good Hunting.

Hmm....the venerable dred canät have tank hunter - no BA can take skills you know - we all have the furious assault instead.

Maybe swap one scout squad with a normal one and take a missile launcher - who knows when he has to battle lot's of armoured vehicles!

Ok I'm a bit confused as to how that Chaplain costs over 200pts. Seems to me he should be in the 160ish range, but I don't have my books with me atm. I'd actually lose one of the scout squads, pump your 2 original Dev Squads to Lascannon teams with the points, and add a missle launcher to your Scouts. The remaining points can pump up your Tac Squads with plasma gun or two in case you run into Terminators, altho that assumes the cost on the Chaplain is wrong. I dont have the BA codex so I'm assuming there are some treats on him I don't know about.

Blood Angels chappies cost more points than norman ones. Lascannons won't do any good in BA armies - the red thirst is all too risky. However devestators can be really usefull if you know how to use them - a PF in the squad is nice when all your units have CC capabileties...
