seems ok but if you are thinking of usin it as an assault unit dont it will die then youve lost an officer. Why not make him a leadership only unit. A vox system might be too much for the points but try iron discipline. give the squad a heavy weapon and sit it at the back to give leadership and covering fireOriginally Posted by bladeofdeath3form my experience with snipers i'd get rid of these to fund some heavy weapons in your squads. They look great but cos snipers dont have a good AP they are actually quite useless. In the numbers youve got they will def be useless.Originally Posted by bladeofdeath3first off squad 1 needs 9 guardsmen and its sarge.( i assume this is a typo) again the officers squad seems a bit close combat orientated a bad idea although it might be useful in some games. id play it safe at this many points and give it a heavy weapon or load it out with assault weapons to plug gaps in your line. The squads are bare they wont do anything they just dont have the firepower again heavy weapons. with the ratlings gone both your main command and whole platoon can get heavy bolters.Originally Posted by bladeofdeath3conscripts dont need to be split like this it will just confuse you. They work as one unit and cant be seperated. again they have no firepower perhaps if you went assaulty with your platoon HQ you could use the conscripts as a meat shield. (i see their point as a cheaper filler so you can get the Russ though!)Originally Posted by bladeofdeath3your points are of here i think it should be 155 for that load out. I dont have my codex here but id check that again. brilliant idea for 500 points as a scare tactic although it might cause you some problems. Firstly they might take a lascannonn on the off chance then theyll take out a huge chunk of your firepower. This is unlikely but a single russ isnt as hard as it may seem. once thats gone you have no firepower anywhere else to deal with well anything. id probably swap it out for more troops or a chimera for a command at this level.Originally Posted by bladeofdeath3
The major problem with this list is it cant kill armour at all. It has no heavy or even assault weapons which are the guards strength. The leman russ seems good but in a couple of games itll get whacked easily. i suggest you drop it until you get to 1000 points. try putting in a chimera somewhere if you desperately need a tank and get some heavy weapons. also without the tank you could get rid of the conscripts and get something useful!!
hope this helps
