    1500 City Fight (first time in the City)

    I am kicking around ideas for city fight.
    I haven't played a City Fight. We're going to have a tournament of 1500 on 4'x4' tables.
    I know that there will always be 3 buildings on each side of the table.
    The rest of the terrain will be considered roads (which is cool).
    Buildings can be degraded to rubble, (thogh I havent' read up on it yet).

    Preliminary Comments:
    - I think that an Orbital is wise.
    - The core of this army is really the 2xCelestians with 2 Flamers & 2 Immolators
    - I don't mind odd-numbered Seraphim Squads. They always get killed, so scoring is moot.
    - I am considereing an Armor Fist, just so I can get Improved Comms to bring in the Orbital.

    You've gone a bit minimal on the troops. I think they do need some decent weaponry or they won't be able to contribute much and that's a sixth of your points not pulling their weight.

    You've miscalculated the points for the Inq and retinue. It's actually 113. I think you've only paid for one HB upgrade. I'd drop the unit, reinforce the Retributors, and equip the Battle Sisters with the points saved.

    Bear in mind the points spent on the Orbital Strike could also be used to much better fit out your Seraphim. Keep an open mind and see how you do with it.

    I like 10 FP.
    Maybe you should consider dropping the =][= and adding another squad of Sisters, only because you want to take that army into a competition?

    Can you have multiple books of St Lucius? Is one a photocopy?

    ORBITAL:
    Should I really ditch the Orbital?
    It has a extra strategic value in this tournament, due to the following:
    (I believe each enemy building will have one Srategum in this tournament).
    (Also, a flag in each building is a score)
    (4x4 tables)

    INQUISITOR'S RETINUE:
    I agree the Inquisitor's Retinue should probably go. Plus I mis-alculated it anyway.
    I was thinking that the 6 total buildings on 4x4 will contribute a lot of extra cover that the Gun Servitors could take advantage of.

    TROOPS:

    A good thought.
    I was planning on the Troops playing defensively: Hold one building each.
    Auspex puts a potential punishment on Infiltrators.
    Maybe one of them should be mounted.

    RETRIBUTORS:
    My Philosophy on Retributors:
    - No MMs. They are an absolutely terrible deal.
    - I prefer a small squad with 3 Heavy Bolters.
    why?
    - It hapens very often that all 4 HBs can't get LOS. 15 points are thus saved.
    - Small, cheap Ret squad with/within range of the Book of St Lucius is a cheap, hard unit.
    - I don't like to Divine Guide Heavy Bolters. It takes a too many extra points to get DG. I don't think the added value justifies the added cost.

    YOur breaking your own theories... why celestians as a retinue?

    I don wonder how that canoness will perform, i would maybe consider a plasma pistol instead of a power weapon. Just a S3 weapon on an HQ makes me very skeptical. I would give the blessed weapon to this HQ.

    Give the 5 man squad 2 inferno's, as you wont be passing DG in a 5 man squad w/ no vet.

    Then i would 7 man squad 2 flamers, against MEQ's 2 flamers is not overkill. Also, the veteran seraphim needs an eviscerator.

    With so many roads, i would mount up these squads w/ 2 flamers. Why? because roads equal 18" movement for your rhinos!

    Normally i wouldnt suggest one exorcist, but w/ restricted LOS from CoD one should be fine. Orbital looks like it'll be fun, but watch out, it'll kill your troops as well.


    Overall, i would say it's a good start, the main lack i see is AT. i would suggest plenty of jump pack eviscerators as your exorcist will have trouble pulling LOS.

    Hey Red,

    I see what you are trying to achieve with this list and i have to say i like it. I just wonder if with all the cover on the board if it would be worth squeesing a penitent or two in. Just gives your opponent something else to worry about..........just a thought
