    1750 Raven Guard, Tournament

    Ok so the tournament i'm entering has this rules where you must take at least 5 Troop Squads and for everyone you max out, you get a free veteran upgrade for that squad. Ill note which im taking for free, so with that in mind:

    Good maybe one lascannon in devastator squad.

    Tactics for versing these armys.
    Space marines think of them as your equal.
    Tyrnids weaken them down with bolter at the squads and shoot the ap two wepons at the carns and tyrants ..exc
    Tau click here for there tactics
    For choas think of them as your equal if there undivided.
    But for the other armys to much to help on that.

    I'm not understanding several things about your list.

    First, how many marines are in each squad? That's a pretty important thing to write down you know.
    Second, why have you written (free) next to the power fists in the tactical squads?
    Third, you cannot have 2 drop pods and 2 LSTs in seperate slots in a Raven guard army. Why? Flesh Over Steel. Read the bit about transport options.

    OK, now onto the list itself:

    HQ:
    The chaplain is ridiculously over-equipped, and therefore over-priced.
    Loose the adamantium mantle until you get to the bottom of your list and find some spare points.
    Loose the melta bombs and artificer armour for good. Artificer armour is too expensive for what it does, and if you are using this guy to assault tanks then something has gone wrong.
    Give him a bolt pistol, so he gets another attack, and a ranged weapon.

    Elites:
    Assault Squads: Loose the melta on both squads, for the same reason as the chaplain.
    Otherwise they look decent enough, assuming they are full squads.

    Troops:
    Scouts: These squads are not great. Sniper rifles (in my experience) are just not effective. If you have to have them, take a single squad of 8, all with sniper rifles.
    Missile Launchers go better in 5 man bolter squads, simply because they are small and easy to hide.

    Drop Pods: Free powerfists, again, why? Assuming these squads are full, they are OK. Melta or Plasma is almost certainly going to be significantly better than Flamers, and certainly more adaptable.

    Lascannon Squad: Fine, but uninspired, and it doesn't really fit with the rest of your list.

    Fast Attack:
    LSTs: Good, but they either need to be in one squadron, or you need to loose a drop pod (see top).

    Heavy Support:
    Devastators: Iffy. Taking both Heavy Bolters and Missile Launchers in one squad is a really bad idea, because whatever you shoot at is wasting some of the units potential. You seem to be lacking anti-tank most, so I would reccomend taking an 8 man squad with 4 Missile Launchers. Cheap, and effective.


    Anyway, that is what I think. Frankly, I disagree fairly strongly with Crusade on many of his points throughout the list (except the number of troops needs to be shown), and I have no idea what he is talking about when it comes to his 'tactics' section.

    I'm pretty much just going to second what minus_t said.

    First, please list the squad totals and I assume the Assault Sqauds have Furious Charge in order to be elites? That should be listed. And the fists are free because you have a max squad size?

    As to the list:
    -Dump at least the Artificer Armor, preferrably the Mantle and Melta Bombs too.

    -Melta bombs on assault squads are very spendy for their effectiveness. See if you can get your antitank elsewhere.

    -I'd put meltas on those drop pod squads.

    -Perhaps instead of dropping a speeder to make the list legal, instead give 1 of those tactical squads Infiltrate rather than a drop pod. In this case use a plasma instead of a melta and give them a heavy weapon.

    -I also dislike sniper rifles, they are barely better than bolters for far more points. See if these points can be better spent elsewhere. Sticking with the Scout theme, I'd rather use:
    3x 5scouts w/ 1 missile launcher.
    Same points, but more men and an extra missile launcher shot.

    -Use 4 missile launchers in that devastator squad.
