I quite like creating my themed armies but i was wondering how effective this one would be. its based on a Napoleonic style of march up line up and ahoot ive converted quite a few so far lotsa green stuff. so its 1500 points
JO with HI bolt pistol trademark item
vet with standard
lascannon support squad with sharpshooters 110pts
9 stormtroopers in chimera
grenade launcher (grenadiers grenades its a fluff thing)
chimera has multilaser heavy bolter
troops (2x whats below)
HQ JO with ID powersword
3x squads with vet sarges and grenade launchers
285 points each
2 leman russ exterminators
lascannon, heavy bolter sponsons and extra armour
1 leman russ exterminator
hull heavy bolter, heavy bolter sponsons and extra armour (440pts for whole heavy support)
Tactics are to advance behind the russes which might get destroyed well il just walk over them thatll be a nice bit of cover. heavy weapons are all on the russes really which could be bad but grenade launchers are almost a heavy weapon lol. i didnt put heavy weapons in the squads cos they are going to be advancing so its not cost effective. The extra armour is to keep the russes moving. the grenadiers are for that extra bit of punch where its needed. Also ive got leadership sorted so no need for expensive vox network yay!!
so any thoughts completely useless or just difficult to use i understand it aint no tournie winner but fluff wise taken into account whats the thoughts?
As your only serious anti-tank/anti MC unit, I'd say you're a little low in the general department. That unit is also 120pts.lascannon support squad with sharpshooters 110pts
... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
Thanks for pointing out the points total well sort it.
I was rethinking the army as it does seem very light at antitank, I suppose it comes from my normal opponents. most armies i play dont really have much that a couple of moving autocannons wont kill!
i did however think of making one platoon have lascannons aswell or exchanging their grenade launchers for plasma. How many lascannons do you reckon i should have?
AV14 is pretty rare here and im pretty good at getting side armour nowadays but lascannons are useful for picking off dreadnoughts grrr.
PS im going to completely redo the list and add in some rough riders will repost it after that.
