    500 pt ultramarine list

    I was just wondering about this 500 pt army list

    HQ

    Master of Sancity with artificer armour and power fist-145 pts
    8 space marines-120 pts

    Troops

    5 space marines, 1 las cannon-90 pts
    5 scouts, 2 sniper rifle, 1 heavy bolter-80 pts

    Fast Attack

    1 land speeder w/ multi melta

    all coments are welcome... don't go easy

    for the chaplain, i suggest you drop the artificer armor(becuase it won't help against ap2 weapons and ccw that ignore armor saves) and don't take a powerfist.(you should stick with the free power weapon, unless you want to give him both a powerfist and keep his power weapon so you can choose which to use in close combat.) also, give him termie honors

    are the 8 space marines under him a command squad? if so, give them infiltrate, close combat weapons, and a sergeant with power fist.

    the 5 man squad with the lascannon is fine, but consider adding one more marine.

    if your going to take scouts, either make them all close combat oriented, or give them all sniper riffles.

    land speeder is fine.

    no offense, but this list makes very little sense for 500 points. one, ur not going to need artificers and a power fist on a chaplain. terminator honors will be a better way to spend your points. also give him a bolt pistol. im unclear about the 8 space marines. if they're a command squad, make one of the space marines a vet sergeant (termie honors on the sergeant) and give that sergeant a power fist. as alexpape said, give them infiltrate so the chappie can do what he does best, fighting in CC. i guess the troop selections are fine but what puzzles me is the landspeeder. you're not going to run into a lot of armor in 500 points, maybe a single tank at best. thats why you have the lascannon. i would use a landspeeder tornado with a heavy bolter and assault cannon. in the end your list should look like this.

    HQ: Master of Sanctity
    -Bolt Pistol
    -Terminator Honors
    115
    -Command Squad
    Vet Sarge w/ Powerfist and Bolt Pistol
    5x Space Marine w/ Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon
    -All have infiltrate (Even Chaplain)
    238 Points

    Troops: Tactical Squad
    4x Space Marine w/ Bolter
    1x Space Marine w/ Lascannon
    90 Points

    Troops: Scout Squad
    4x Scout w/ Sniper Rifle
    1x Scout w/ Heavy Bolter
    90 Points

    Fast Attack: Land Speeder Tornado
    -Heavy Bolter
    -Assault Cannon
    80 Points

    My suggestions-

    Give your scout squad more focus. Bolters and bolt pistols are meant for medium-close range against light-medium infantry, and sniper rifles are for long range against particularly tough units. By trying to make it do both, you really won't do too well with either.

    Also, I agree with dropping the fist from the chaplain. Seeing as he has the nice Litanies of Hate ability that works well in close combat, I'd say give him a bolt pistol, maybe a plasma pistol, and the rest of your guys pistols and CC weapons.

    I also noticed you have 2 anti-tanks in there, the lascannon and the landspeeder. That's good for 500, I'd keep them if you decide to edit the list.

    Thanks for the comments. Yes, the 8 space marines are part of the command squad but I never knew that regular space marines can infiltrate. I have gone through my codex and I don't remember reading about space marines infiltrating. The reason I have two scouts with bolt pistol and ccw is because I only have 2 scout snipers. lol... Anyways I'm hoping to go to a GW store to buy more models.

    the space marine command squad can take a special ability. its at the bottom of the command squad listing.
