Help me finish my 1.5k Space Wolves Army!

Ok, the list below I think would be a good all-comers list. If you agree, please let me know. Or tell me what I need to change. I'd really like to finalize a 1500 point list and then get maybe 500 points worth of options to either make a 2k point list or to give me variance within a single 1500 point list. At that point I can maybe start collecting a different army, I dunno. So I'm looking for good ways to round out this list to have it on hand and turn my attention elsewhere (as far as collecting goes, at least, SWs will always be my main army, probably).

Oh, and the only thing I'll ask you not to do is tell me to change my Venerable Dread. Thats what he is, it is part of the fluff of my army. So for tactical goodness or not, thats what he is. That is the only thing I won't change.

I'm not very familiar with space wolves, but since no1 else is replying I will,

I suggest you take some assualt marines or terminators, also scout packs are good but imo meltas really arent worth it on scouts

The priest is good, the dreadnought is good to; at most I'd say that if you haven't completed the actual dred than consider making him able to swap out the weapons.

I forget, does the WGL leading the squad take away the scouts evil ability of showing up exactly where the enemy doesn't want them?

silentdeathz, space wolf scouts are far deadlier than normal marine scouts because they do something else instead of infiltrating closer to the enemy.

Nice, one support unit and two assault units; between the three I'd only suggest getting battle leaders into the blood claws and close combat grey hunters otherwise their perfectly fine.

Long fangs- I'd go with sometghing other than four missle launchers but thats only because I prefer having two definative roles for a unit capable of accomplishing that. Squads at maximum so theres nothing more to say about them really.

Whirlwind- its good as it is.

Predator- it can move and fire everything, but your either wasting the sponsons while tank hunting or wasting the lascannons when infantry hunting. A destructor might be a better tank but it isn't as good for tank hunting, while changing the heavy bolters into lascannons pretty much removes all infantry hunting ability from the tank.

Take my love, take my land, take me to where I cannot stand; I don't care I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me.

I don't think there is much point in the destructor. The Autocannon isn't worth it. Sure, it has two shots instead of one, but against your basic Space Marine, enemies still get their armour save. But the TL Lascannon WILL hit the vast majority of the time and it WILL kill a model with no save. So it is more effective, or at least more consistent, at killing troops, plus it gives you the option of anti-tank if you really need it. At least, this is my opinion. When it really comes down to it, its the choice of the annihilator with the heavy bolter sponsons or the lascannon sponsons. The LC sidesponsons is actually what I have now, so if the HB works better, i'll have to find a way to convert, but I have yet to find a situation where I can shoot all 3 of the LC at the same time, so it I figure the HB sponsons would be better than not shooting anything at all.

Now in addition, I've been looking at the Space Wolf special characters. Ragnar Blackmane is, of course, awesome, but rather expensive. Grimnar is really cool and Ulrik is cool, but getting kinda expensive still. But of course, there is no Rune Priest style major character . . . so I'm so torn between what HQs to take, cause I really wanna keep my Venerable Dreadnought around . . . although I suppose I could shift him to an elite slot . . .
