Let me start by saying that I like this list.

I think with just a few tweaks you could have a great, all-comers list.

Here is some advice, as always, take it for what it's worth

    HQ -
I don't think a storm bolter is the best choice. A SB is a 2 handed weapon, so unless your in Termie armor you don't get a +1 for 2 CCW. Save some points and go with a standard bolter. If you want some CC punch, go with a bolt pistol and T-Honors.

I have no experience with a deathwatch kill team and so cannot comment. Seems like a lot of points though.

    Dread -
in an 1850 game, your going to be facing a lot of anti-tank weaponry. Combine that with the general fear that an assult cannon causes, and I wouldn't count on this guy lasting very long. The short range of the Assault Cannon, with the slow movement of the Dread is IMO not a good combination. I love this type of Dread, but always drop pod them. Drop Poding him will allow you to put him where he is most needed at the time, and combined with a Heavy Flamer will take out a lot of guys before he goes down.

    Termies -
Same as the dread. They are just awfully slow. Stick them in a drop pod to increase thier effectiveness, and the overall maneverability of your army.

    Tac squads -
I would seriously consider adding an extra guy to each squad. Makes them more valuable in terms of a scoring unit.

Other then this, the list looks pretty good. If you take my suggestions, you need to come up with about 90 points. My advice would be, unless they play with the correct Scout rule where you play, to drop the scout squad. If you play with the correct Scout rule, then it becomes tough on where to get the points. Maybe the whirlwind.

Okay, I'm not dead set on taking the Dread and the Terminators maybe I could replace them with something else.

Back down to 1498 minus those two options.
    --------------------------------------
    Devastator Squad (eight)
    4x Missle Launchers
    200pts

    1698pts

    Dreadnought
    TL Lascannon
    Extra Armour
    130pts

    1828pts

    ------------------------------------

    Okay, how about now?

I think a Preditor is a better choice then a hellfire Dread tactically, but Dreads are cooler.

but other then that, I think this increases the strength of the list considerably... as long as you are smart about where you put the Dev's.

    deployment questions

I assume you are planning to teleport the terminators in but I could be wrong. How about the Deathwatch Kill team? Are they going to teleport in as well? Also, are you planning to use them as fire support, or maybe holding an objective?
Once a Marine, always a Marine.
