Exactly how are you planning to field the units in your army? You've got drop troops but I'm not sure how you're planning to use it. If you're only planning on dropping your command squads, do realise this shafts your entire army by leaving them with a crap LD value. If you're planning on dropping the majority of the army, keep the HQ out of the way with a master-vox caster to make sure the troops stay in line as it will be hard to accurately drop your troops within the LD bubbles.

    Just a couple of things..

    1. you have close order on your main command and on fire support squads etc the only people who can use close order are infantry platoons and conscripts im afraid.

    2. As triumph said you havnt stated how you are going to field units. IMO dropping those line squads in will be a huge mistake. you lose a minimum of two turns heavy weapon firing and they are placed randomly. dont drop them in it just wont work.

    3. you do realise your platoon commander outranks your maincommander. this IMo is a bit silly not just for fluff reasons though. as triumph said about your leadership it is bad. You are going to use your main leade in a throwaway combat squad this is such a bad idea. upgrade your main command. or get vets in your line squads so they have good basic leadership.

    Explaining myself

With regard to the drop troops thing, I only recently started playing and i keep finding out that the rules aren't what i think they are. Until recently I thought i would be able to deep strike the command squads and get their special weapons in close while keeping my heavy weapons at a safe distance. That led to a harsh awakening in the middle of a battle(i will omit the details). So that explains why it got in there in the first place, and since it doesnt increase the point value of the squads and i'm not using 5 doctrines anyways i left it in there with an attitude of "won't do any harm, might do some good" even if i almost never use it.

Thanks for telling me about the close order drill thing, that could easily have led to another harsh awakening.

With regard to the LD issue, given my 2 usual oppents play necrons and tyranids, once a squad starts getting hit it doesn't live long enough to need leadership so thats not really an issue to me.

Exactly what seems to happen to my troops most of the time. if i hadnt spent hours modelling on vox networks id drop them!
Seen as you have drop troops some dropping sentinels with Heavy flamers or multilasers wouldnt go amiss. so good for disruption i have 2 heavy flamer and three multilaser with plans to invest in at least two more!

Suit yourself, I find LD to be one of the more important issues that face the IG. Keep in mind that fact that a high leadership not only ensures your men holding their ground, but it allows the to shoot at what you want more often in relations to the target priority tests.
