    2000pt BA Death from Above

    I'm seriously thinking about swapping out the vet assault squad for terminators; it's cheaper, but not as fluffy. Everything drops-in or deepstrikes. Would this list be competetive?

    First of all this is a good list that will do pretty well against a lot of shooty armies. Against nids and Khorne I dont know since you dont want to be up close and personal with these guys if you can help it.

    Check your points I dont think these guys are that many points. That is if you didnt give them Termi Honors. I dont think that you should give them those honors. Your opponet will shoot em up. They are fine as a super assault squad. They also tend to get you comp points in tourneys.

    You cannot have both a multi melta and an assault cannon. If you could this would be the choice of everybody. I would also not deep strike these guys. If there is area terrain on the board there is a good chance that you can hide them from almost any shot. You opponent might try to move around to get a better shot on them and that only improves your situation as they move out of formation. This will allow you to hit em harder with the drop pods. You might want to try this with the assault squad and the death company if you opponent is smart and sets up around a lot of terrain making it hard to drop in with out loosing guys in the terrain.

    Why would you want to put an scout squad in there that just won't make any scense for that good few points to be blown up fast and not even take out the number of points that they are.
    Scout would only be good with if you were versing orks and you put snipers on them and if there war boss isn't in a vehicle just keep shooting him and eventually he would die. Same with the tyrnids

    Sorry about the confusion. I ment 1 x lst (assault cannon) and 1 x landspeeder w/ multimelta in one squad. There would be two of these squads.

    Sorry I realized that when i read your other list.

    In that case it is a darn fine unit. You can move in and blast a tank with both. Then when it gets all shot up you can assing a small majority of the hits to the melta. Good chance your LST will make it out alive.

    Sorry I wasnt clear. Normally I say all BA armies need a BA scout unit, except when they drop in. Then the scouts are sitting there picking their noses first turn and die, quickly

    Exactly like I said

    One thing though for your commander give him a pair of lightnig claws to make him even more deadly in close combat. It may be umfluffy but there can always be a reason why a chaplain has lightning claws.
