    [1750] - Mech GK!

    I was sitting around and thinking about the mech guard I have put into action, and was thinking, ‘man, if my Grey Knights could ride in rhino’s, I’d be set…’ The thought that they couldn’t get there own transports didn’t daunt me however. And here I am, giving you this ridiculous list that, if I faced it, I would defiantly crack a smile. This list (most likely) will never come into fruition, but it is still cool to think about!

    Note: all transports are actually heavy support choices… (yes that means Land Raiders!)

    This list rounds out 1750 pts exactly, and a good thing too as there are no Heavy Support slots left! I could, if need be, bring this army up to 1850 pts with some key upgrades (such as giving the Grand Master an Icon of the Just, Psycannon…)

    So what do you think? Would this list be able to tear the heart out of an enemy force, or will it flounder under the fact that there are only 28 troops and 3 tanks in a 1750 pt list?

    Feel free to make any comments you want as I have little intention of actually fielding this list (maybe once or twice in a friendly game )

    I'd personally make all of the Land Raiders Land Raider Crusaders because of the better assault capability. Also, having 1 Incinerator in each squad might make them more effective on the charge.

    Hammerhand on the GM is usually a waste. After all, you're losing the force weapon abilities for only 1 additional attack at an additional 2 str. To me, that's just not worth it.

    other than that, it is an interestingly unconventional list and I would like to hear how it works out for you if you ever get around to playing it.

    when i think meq GK i think this:

    a brother caption,
    2 inquisitors w/ like a mystic or w/e in land raider
    8 IST w/ plasma in rhino
    8 IST w/ melta in chimera w/ heavy bolter
    Armoured Fist Squad Kitted out
    Armoured Fist Squad Kitted out
    2 Land Raider Crusaders.


    this is roughly 1757pts. if u wanna bring it up to 2000pts. fill out the Inquisitor rets maybe. or add in a unit of Grey Knights to ride in one of the crusaders.


    in total that list has
    -2 land raiders
    -2 land raider Cruisaders
    -1 Rhino
    -3 Chimera



    now tha tis a meq list for GK imo.

    Heh. Mech GK?! :wacko: Well, I don't hink you stand much of a chance with it, but there can be no doubt that it has Fun Factor ... if short-lived.

    Certainly you can play mech DH -- as mEGALOMANIAC appears to do, and Goblin suggests -- but without dedicated transports, you really can't play mechanized pure GK.

    And really, why would you? I'd invest in 2+ IST melta squads with TP homers, 2-3 squads of FAGKs, armoured fist squads and a leman russ, maybe sentinels,....
    ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.
