Ok, I've still got 3 months till the tournament, but its never too early to start planning eh?
High Marshal Helbrecht - 175
Emperor's Champion - hit on 3+ vow - 140
Master of Sanctity - Frag Grenades, Holy Orb, Plasma Pistol - 136
10 man Sword Bretheren - krak grenades, lightning claws, power weapon, cc - 260
2 20 man Crusader Squads - meltas and power fists, frags - 305 each
2 10 man Crusader Squads - plasma, one with lascannon, one with plasma cannon
4 man biker, 1 melta, 1 plasma, 1 power weapon, krak grenades - 158
Chaos is cowardace! - Master of Sanctity Alger
Over all I like it a nice foot slogging BT list. What follows is just some things that poped out at me that might make it better. I'm sure that others will add a great deal more. Best of luck.Don't forget to give him T. honours.Master of Sanctity - Frag Grenades, Holy Orb, Plasma Pistol - 136I would drop the squad sizes down to 10 intiates 5 neophates. 20 man squads are just to large to manage properly. Besides I think that they benifit from the mixed saves rule better this way. (not sure on that though you would have to double check that.)2 20 man Crusader Squads - meltas and power fists, frags - 305 eachAre you trying to build a fire support with these? If so, the best fire support squad set up is:2 10 man Crusader Squads - plasma, one with lascannon, one with plasma cannon
5 intiates lascannon, plasma gunI don't have any experince with bikers, I've never liked them much. I would replace them with 2 landspeeder tornados in seperate squads, these are great for grabing objectives and providing more fire support, besides who can say no to assalt cannons?4 man biker, 1 melta, 1 plasma, 1 power weapon, krak grenades - 158
To put it bluntly, I don't really like the list too much. I used to run a super-similar list, and I never won with it... ever. It looked awesome on the board, but it just never made it across in an reliable manner. I found that you need a bit more shooting (at least 1:1) to be effective. So this is my advice, take it or leave it.
Personally, while I love the model, I don't like the way helbrecht works. I would either think about using helbrecht the way he was designed (w/ a 15 man retinue) or drop him for a standard marshall for leadership bonuses across the board.
I like the EC & vow, and his leadership is just great for leading a squad of men.
Whenever I take a chaplain, it's the same set up: Chaplain, 3 Cenobyte servitors, HOA, Term. Honors, BP. All for a steal at 151 pts. Join him to a 20 man squad and look out! So you might want to think about changing him out.
Just drop the vets... too expensive for what they are (again, awesome models, though). If you really want them, think about making them the las/plas squads and infiltrating them to get some good lines of site on tanks. This could remove some of the main threats to this force.
I think the largest units of crusaders I've taken is 15, and that seems to give the best survivability to the unit. When you go 20, then you start with 4+ saves, which die so fast. With 15 men, you're 3+ die first (and most of the time you get a save), and the neophytes are just there to add more attacks when the squad hits. Plus 20 men are just too big to hide and work with.
I would run 2 6-man las/plas squads if and only if you have a marshal (leadership).
I would make my bikes 3 meltaguns, with an attack bick with multimelta. This should demolish any tank problem that you have.
You might want to think about adding a unit of jump guys, and then giving your marshall a JP to go along with them, and tie up the baddest enemy shooting units. Or maybe dropping the bikes for a couple of land speeders with AC & HB.
So, in summary, working with what you have:
Chaplain w/3 cenobytes
15-man squad for CC
15-man squad for CC
(8-10 man jump squad?)
3 bikes w/ melta & 1 attack bike (2 land speeders?)
I don't mean to be too blunt, but I'm at lunch now and I'm almost out of time (and I know a little something about the type of list you have). The points will be tough to make work, but you can do it!
Hope it helped a bit.
