The main idea with this army is deployment control. The Inquisitors upgrade lets me make a ld8 test and if passed lets me choose my deployment zone. Everything in the army aside for the basilisks and inquisitor infiltrates so I can get the best cover available. Combine the best cover with cameleoline and a ld9 officer with a standard bearer and you get guardsmen that are only getting wiped out by assualt. The assassins word in your ear move lets me potentially snipe important squads or characters or indirect arty.

Thanks for the comments in advance.

I understand what you are doing with the Light Infantry, but in actual game play it almost never works that "neet". After your enemy has set up, you usually won't find that many good infiltrating spots. I recommend saving the points you spend on the Doctrine and adding the Doctine: Veterans. Take three Vet squads with Lascannons and Plasma Guns and those will usually fill up the available infiltrating spots, and you haven't had to spend an extra point!

I love the "Dualing" Basilisks, it is one of my favorite tactics, and is especially good for an Infantry heavy army like yours.

The Callidus is also a good addition to this list - nice touch. I suggest you might take Improved Comms on one of your Basilisks to help her arrive fast if need be.

I also wouldn't bother with Vox's, as I like Veteran Sgts instead, but that is up to you.

Overall your list is very solid, and should do well. It might become a little boring to play, but it is a good, cempetative list.

    Cheers, DH

Thanks for the reply. I really have more fun playing my drop guard army, but this one is more reliable.

I am also investigating this combo, though I try to be more modest on the use of Light Infantry, but I have one question.
    You field three platoons, why?
Why not only two. It seems to me you are paying quite a few points for that one Lascan.

As a sidenote: The use of the two Allied Elites (DH+WH) was debated a while back in a thread started by Caluin. If I recall right the consensus was that the use of one Elite-inq to get an Assassin was flawed. I might be wrong on this though, but checking that thread can give you a headstart on any rules-debate that might occur from this combination.

My only reccomendation would be to give your inquisitor a power weapon (so he can actually do something) and look at your heavy weapon configurations a little more closely. The list is awesome (I use a similar one), but I don't think you need that many lascannons. I would drop some of the infantry lascannons and add heavy bolters instead. You already have enough anti-tank, so some more anti-infantry firepower would be good thing to have. Your greatest concern should be shooting things before they get into assault, so you need anti-infantry weaponry. That would also give you some extra points to play around with (infiltrating demo charge squad?) Good luck, and nice list.

    Thanks for the replies.

As far as the inq+assassin debate their should be none. The inquisitor is taken from the witch hunters codex, which I am allowed only one elite choice from. The Assassin is then taken from the Demonhunters codex, from which I am only allowed one elite choice. So I have taken only one elite from each codex, which is perfectly legal. Unless this has been faq'd by something the codex's are clear on the number of elites you can obtain as allies.

    Thanks
